Shoppers in your store were already comparing
Two similar products, different prices and a product page that doesn't explain why. The customer hesitates, opens another tab, looks at your competitors and often doesn't come back. Comparing is what anyone does before paying more for something, and if your store doesn't make it easy, they will do it elsewhere.
WPC Smart Compare for WooCommerce brings that comparison into your own store. Placing a product next to a better, more expensive one shows what you gain by paying more, without you having to word it like an ad. It works best in large catalogs and in multi-vendor stores where different brands live together.
Button, bar and popup: how the customer compares
The customer clicks the compare button on a product and it is added to a comparison bar, which you can place at the top or bottom of the page. From there they open the table in a popup or in a new tab, as you choose. Everything runs with AJAX, with no page reloads.
- A button your way: it can be a button or a link, with the text you want, and you decide whether clicking it again removes the product or just opens the table without duplicating it.
- Visibility by category: you show the button only where comparing makes sense, for example in categories with measurable features.
- Search inside the table: customers add products by typing, and if the table is empty the plugin suggests products.
- Shortcodes: they let you place buttons on specific pages.
Long tables that don't get lost: sticky column and two reading modes
A table with many attributes is tiring, and customers give up before reaching the end. WPC Smart Compare lets you make the first column, the first row or both sticky so they stay in place while scrolling, and hide attributes to clear the view. It also offers two modes: highlight the differences or hide the similarities, ideal for going straight to what sets one product apart from another.
The horizontal view (products as columns) is designed for comparing up to 5 products; with more, it's better to switch to the vertical view, where products and attributes swap places. You can set the maximum number of products that can be compared, reorder them by drag and drop, and choose the colors of the bar and the button without limits. The table adapts to mobile and touch screens.
There is also a quick comparison table on each product page: it shows products related to the one the customer is viewing. You can change its position or use it instead of the related products section.
The table only compares what you have filled in on each product
The plugin displays data, it doesn't create it. If your attributes are half empty, the table will have gaps and will compare very little, however good the interface is.
