About WPC Smart Notifications for WooCommerce
A store with no movement doesn't convince first-time visitors
Someone who enters your store sees nobody else: no orders, no people browsing, no offers about to end. Without that sense of activity, many visitors look at a product, hesitate and leave. WPC Smart Notifications for WooCommerce shows popup notices while they browse, so the store feels alive and they discover offers, new items or related products.
What makes it interesting is that it isn't a single type of notice. Each source is a different channel, and mixing them sensibly keeps everything from looking like a pressure campaign.
WPC Smart Notifications for WooCommerce: seven notice sources
You can activate one or several sources at the same time:
- Manual: you choose the thumbnail, title, product URL and description.
- Text editor: notices with HTML, compatible with shortcodes. For example, you can place a WPC Countdown Timer shortcode to announce a flash sale.
- New orders: shows your store's recent sales activity over the period you set.
- Virtual orders: generates simulated orders to give an impression of movement.
- On sale products: reminds visitors of the most recent offers.
- Low stock: creates a sense of scarcity so the buyer decides sooner.
- Related products: suggests items similar to the ones the visitor is looking at.
There are also viewing notices, which show how many people are looking at a product with a custom thumbnail, and a cart notice that reminds visitors of their cart and opens the cart page.
Now the limits. The cart notice only works with WPC Fly Cart installed, and that plugin is what lets the cart open in a popup. For a click on a product in the feed to open a quick view on screen you need WPC Smart Quick View. And virtual orders are simulated activity, not real sales: presenting them as genuine purchases can mislead the customer, so think carefully about whether to use them and how you label them.
Frequency, position and the places where it should stay quiet
The order of the messages can be the default one or random. You can limit how many items appear per source and set a duration for each one. The autoplay time, in seconds, sets how often a notice shows up. You also choose the entrance and exit effects and the position on screen.
The most useful option for conversion is being able to disable the notices on the cart, on checkout and on the mobile version. Those are the screens where a popup annoys most and where the customer has already decided to buy.
Questions about virtual orders, mobile and cart
Can I use only manual notices, without order data?
Yes. Sources are activated separately, so you can stick to manual or text messages to announce events, new items or promotions.
Can I hide them on mobile?
Yes, there is an option to disable them on the mobile version, as well as on cart and checkout.
Does it work for announcing a flash sale with a countdown?
The text editor supports shortcodes, so you can insert one from another plugin, such as WPC Countdown Timer. That plugin has to be installed separately.
Does the cart notice open the popup cart on its own?
No. It needs WPC Fly Cart. Without it, this cart feature is not available.
Start with one source and a slow autoplay
Activating all seven sources with a short autoplay turns the screen into a parade of windows. The sensible approach is to start with one or two sources, for example on sale products and low stock, and a long interval. Then check how browsing feels in the store, especially on product pages, and add channels gradually.
