About WPFunnels Global Funnels Addon
Showing the same offer to every cart is giving away sales
Anyone running a WooCommerce store with a mid-sized catalog usually ends up with one fixed cross-sell, the same for everybody, or with none at all, because building a funnel by hand for every product is unmanageable. And the offer that works best is almost always the one that makes sense with what the customer has just put in the cart.
WPFunnels Global Funnels Addon starts from that idea: instead of a funnel with its own entry page, you define rules on the cart and the funnel fires on its own when they are met. It is an add-on for WPFunnels Pro and does not work on its own.
WPFunnels Global Funnels Addon in a coffee shop: from cart to offer
Imagine you sell coffee beans, grinders and accessories. This is how a global funnel is built, step by step:
- You choose when the customer enters. You can rely on category, tag or product quantity, on the best-selling, most popular, highest-rated or most-reviewed product in the cart, on shipping class, on user role, on a specific date or on a date range. There are also conditions on the cart total. In the coffee shop, the rule would be: category "Coffee beans".
- You decide the type of offer. Order bump, upsell or downsell.
- You choose which product is offered. A specific product, more quantity of the main product, a random one from a category, from a tag or from the whole shop, the best-selling product in the store or the best-selling one in the category. For the coffee: the best-selling grinder in its category.
- You display the product data. There are dedicated layouts to show the chosen product's data dynamically on the offer page.
- You repeat with other rules. You can create as many global funnels as you want, each with its own conditions. If you want one for the whole store, there is a condition for any product being selected; and if you want to leave a category out, there is the "product category is not" condition.
Two limits worth being clear about. The funnel starts after the cart and has no landing step like a traditional one, so it is not meant for attracting visitors. And when you combine several conditions, they work as "or": meeting one is enough, they are not all required at once. If you expect something like "coffee category and also above a certain amount" as a joint requirement, that is not how it works.
Common questions before building global funnels
What do I need for it to work?
WPFunnels Pro and this add-on installed together. Without the main plugin in its Pro version, the add-on does nothing.
Which product types is it compatible with?
Simple, variable and subscription products (those created with the WooCommerce subscriptions plugin). If your store sells another type of product, test it in a demo first.
Can I run an offer only during certain dates?
Yes. You pick the specific date or date range condition and the funnel only activates during that period, which is handy for one-off campaigns.
Can I have several global funnels at the same time?
Yes, as many as you want, each with different conditions: one per category, another per user role, another per cart total, and so on.
If you want to attract visitors, this comes too late
This add-on works with customers who have already added products to the cart: its ground is raising order value with order bumps, upsells and downsells. If you need a landing page in front of the funnel or want to capture contacts before the purchase, you will have to build that separately with a traditional funnel.
