A cookie banner on an adult site can't get in the way or look improvised
Whoever runs a video or adult content site often faces a double problem: you need to ask for consent before setting cookies, but a huge banner or one with colors that clash with the design scares off the very visitors who arrive looking for something quick. On top of that, visitors to this kind of site are especially sensitive about privacy, and a well-made consent window shows their data is taken seriously. WPS Cookie Consent displays a discreet, customizable notice and remembers the answer so it doesn't bother people again.
What you can adjust in the WPS Cookie Consent banner
The plugin focuses on a few things, but controls them well:
- Position: bottom-left, bottom-center or bottom-right, depending on where you have menus, players or important buttons.
- Colors and transparency: color pickers for the background and buttons, and opacity from 1 to 100%, so the notice fits your brand.
- Your own texts: the consent message, the button label and the links are written by hand, useful if you work with several markets or a specific legal text.
- Privacy policy: a "More Information" button that opens your policy in a new tab, or a popup within the same page that accepts custom HTML and dark mode.
When the visitor accepts, their answer is stored in a cookie and they don't see the banner again, unless they clear their cookies. The plugin includes translations into eight languages: English, German, Italian, Russian, French, Hindi, Portuguese and Spanish. It is lightweight, with little CSS and JavaScript, and works with any theme without touching code.
Testing mode keeps you from launching a banner blind
A practical detail: with "Dev mode for admin" enabled in the general settings, the banner appears on every page load for administrators only, even if you have already accepted. That lets you try different positions, colors and messages, and check that it doesn't cover anything important in your theme before publishing. For all other visitors, normal behavior doesn't change.
Is WPS Cookie Consent enough as your cookie solution?
It depends on what you expect from it. It is a consent banner that stores the response, not a full cookie manager. Before deciding, be clear about the following:
- It only offers accepting: it has no cookie categories the visitor can switch on or off one by one.
- It doesn't write your privacy policy or your terms: you need to have them written yourself.
- If your legal situation requires more (for example, blocking specific scripts until permission is given), consult a professional, because the plugin doesn't promise compliance on its own.
Does it make my site GDPR compliant?
Not by itself. It covers the banner and the storage of consent. The privacy policy and the terms remain your responsibility.
Will visitors see the banner on every visit?
No. After accepting, their decision stays in a cookie and the notice doesn't appear again, unless they delete it.
Can I test it without accepting permanently?
Yes, by enabling the development mode for administrators in the general settings.
