About YayCurrency Pro

Built for WooCommerce stores that already get visitors from other countries

A customer from another country sees a price in a currency that isn't theirs, does the math in their head, hesitates and leaves. Or they reach checkout and find a different figure from the one they expected. YayCurrency Pro tackles that moment: it shows prices in the visitor's local currency and lets them change it whenever they like.

It suits anyone selling products or pricing plans in WooCommerce who wants customers abroad to see familiar figures. It is not for those who need something else: the plugin handles currencies and prices, it does not translate the store or switch languages, and it works on top of WooCommerce, so without it there is no point. If your audience is in a single country with a single currency, it adds nothing.

How YayCurrency Pro decides which currency to show

The plugin detects each visitor's location and shows prices in their local currency. It also includes a selector so customers can choose another one manually, useful when someone is travelling or prefers to pay in a currency different from their country's.

Prices are recalculated instantly and the customer doesn't have to reload the page. That avoids the abrupt jump that makes someone who is comparing prices hesitate.

Exchange rates, fees and rounding: what you control

  • Manual or automatic exchange rate: you can set it yourself or let it be retrieved automatically from Yahoo! Finance.
  • Conversion fee per currency: as a fixed amount or a percentage, to cover differences and exchange costs.
  • Smart rounding: turns odd figures into clean prices, the kind that look set on purpose.
  • Format per currency: symbol position, thousand and decimal separators, and number of decimals.

Setting the rate yourself gives prices stability, but forces you to review it if the currency moves a lot. Automatic mode saves you that task, although your prices will vary with the market.

The currency switcher wherever you need it

You can display the switcher in the navigation bar, in a widget, or inside a page or post. You can also reorder from the admin panel how the currencies appear, so the one that sells most goes first.

YayCurrency Pro goes all the way to checkout, not just the storefront

Converting only the product price is not enough: the customer later finds shipping, coupons or taxes in a different figure. The plugin also converts the shipping cost, coupons, taxes and other prices on the site, and lets customers pay in the chosen currency with WooCommerce's native payment methods. You can pay with PayPal, either with a PayPal account or by card through the gateway.

It is compatible with any theme and page builder. Even so, if you use a less common third-party payment gateway, place a test order in each currency before opening the store.
