Someone looking for sneakers doesn't type «sports footwear, running, men»: they type the brand name. But most WooCommerce stores are organized the way their owner organizes them, by category, and the customer who arrives with a brand in mind has to guess where it is.

YITH WooCommerce Brands Add-on Premium makes sense if you sell products from brands your customers already know (fashion, jewelry, food, electronics) and you want that brand to be a way into your catalog. If you only sell your own brand it adds little: you would have a single brand across the whole store.

It also helps to know what it doesn't do on its own. The «by brand» filter on the product listing needs YITH WooCommerce AJAX Product Filter, and offers for a single brand need YITH WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing and Discounts. Without them you get brands, brand pages, widgets and shortcodes, but not those two extras.

Every brand with its own logo, banner and page

You can create unlimited brands. For each one you set a name, customize the slug and upload a logo or an image. You can also set a default image for brands without a logo and a custom URL. On the shop and on the product page you choose whether to show only the name, only the logo or both, and the size of the logo.

Each brand's archive page accepts its own header image, so it becomes a small showcase with all the products of that brand. Brands can be organized hierarchically and a product can carry one or several.

Your old «brand» attribute works too

If you already created an attribute called «brand», you don't need to redo it: you can convert a category, an attribute or a tag into a brand and use the widgets and shortcodes with it without limits.

The plugin is compatible with the WooCommerce importer and exporter: when you import products, the links between brands and products are imported too, so they are associated automatically. If you reuse an attribute, check beforehand that the names are consistent, because each variant spelled differently will be a different brand.

Where the brand appears and how the customer finds it

This is what decides whether the brand helps you sell or stays as decoration:

• You choose the position of the brand on the shop and on the product page, and what is shown in each place.
• With one click you add «Sort by brand» to the shop's sorting dropdown, in alphabetical order.
• Five widgets for areas like the sidebar: brand lists, logos, sliders and more.
• Nine shortcodes to build your own pages, for example brands by category or brands in alphabetical order.

Can I filter by brand without another plugin?

You can show brand lists and brand pages with widgets and shortcodes, and sort the shop by brand. The AJAX-style «Filter by brand» needs YITH WooCommerce AJAX Product Filter.

How do I assign the brand to hundreds of products?

When you import with the WooCommerce importer, the links to brands are imported too. For products that already exist, YITH WooCommerce Bulk Product Editing lets you assign the same brand to several at once.
