About Address Field Autocomplete For WooCommerce
If your store sells on Black Friday or delivers to specific areas, this is for you; if you don't use Google Maps, it isn't
A customer in a hurry types half the street, skips the postcode or picks the wrong city, and the parcel comes back to your warehouse. Address Field Autocomplete For WooCommerce targets exactly that point: it suggests addresses as the customer types at checkout, using Google Maps data.
It suits the store that suffers returns from badly typed addresses, especially in campaigns where people buy fast, and the one that delivers to specific areas and wants certain shipping methods to appear only there.
It doesn't suit anyone who doesn't want to depend on Google. It needs a Google Maps API key, and if Google Maps isn't available in a country, autocomplete doesn't work there (the plugin's other features still do). Nor is it an address validator that guarantees delivery: it helps the customer type correctly, but it checks nothing beyond that.
Suggestions as they type, and the other fields fill themselves
The customer starts typing their address and Google offers options. Fewer fields by hand means fewer chances of error and a shorter checkout.
- Integrated street field: the admin can show the address fields inside the street field itself, for a more compact checkout.
A map at checkout with a draggable pointer
A Google map is shown at checkout and updates as the customer types. They can drag the pointer to their exact location and the fields fill in based on the chosen point.
The map also depends on the Google Maps API key. Without it, this part doesn't work.
Address Field Autocomplete For WooCommerce and shipping methods by location
You can assign shipping methods to specific locations: for example, free shipping for customers in Texas, which appears automatically when they choose that state. You can also do the reverse and exclude a method for certain zones, countries or regions.
A store with its own delivery can offer free shipping in its city and different rates elsewhere, without the customer having to choose anything odd. Think through your zones before configuring, because each rule adds one more condition to test at checkout.
What to check before buying
- Test the full checkout in the demo, on mobile and desktop, with real addresses from your customers.
- Check that your theme and checkout form have no customizations that clash with the address fields.
- Make sure your selling countries are covered by Google Maps.
- Have your Google API key ready and understand how Google bills its usage, because that sits outside the plugin.
It's worth testing in a staging environment before going live.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work in any country?

Can I offer different shipping by region?
Yes. You can assign methods to specific locations and restrict them in certain zones or countries.
Does the map update in real time?
Yes, it updates as the customer types and the pointer reflects what they enter.
Do I need the Google Maps key?
Yes, for autocomplete and the map. It's a requirement separate from the plugin.
Is it compatible with high-performance order storage?
Yes, it is compatible with HPOS.
