Minimalism is the hardest aesthetic to improvise

It looks like the opposite. A design with few elements sounds easy, which is why plenty of architecture practices try to build their own site: white background, big photographs, thin typography. The result almost never works, because in a design without ornament there is nowhere to hide: every spacing that does not line up, every badly chosen size jump and every photograph that is not good enough are all visible.
