Whoever runs a pool hall or a sports club usually has information scattered around: Saturday's tournament in a Facebook group, opening hours in a photo of a poster, and the cues on sale jotted down in a notebook. A visitor searching for where to play this Friday finds nothing and goes elsewhere. Billiard is a theme that brings those three things together, events calendar, shop and contact, with a sporty design that adapts to mobile and retina screens.
Billiard step by step: from the demo to this week's schedule
This is what the journey looks like for a club launching a new site:
- Install the demo: a wizard installs the required plugins, the demo content and the logo. You start from a site that already looks like a club and replace texts and images, instead of starting from scratch.
- Build the pages: WPBakery Page Builder is included and lets you drag and drop blocks. The theme is also compatible with Gutenberg.
- Publish events: Modern Event Calendar lets you create regular events and recurring ones, like the Thursday league. It connects with Google Calendar and Google Maps, so you can mark the venue on the map and set reminders.
- Sell gear: the WooCommerce integration styles the shop for cues, chalk or club shirts.
- Receive enquiries: Contact Form 7 manages several forms, with Ajax submission, CAPTCHA and Akismet spam filtering.
Now, what you should be clear about: the calendar publishes events, it does not manage table bookings by the hour. If you want people to book, you will need another tool. And the shop requires you to set up WooCommerce yourself (products, payments, shipping): the theme provides the design, not the business.

A floor plan with pins thanks to Image Map Pro
Among the plugins that come with the theme is Image Map Pro, which draws pins, icons, rectangles and ellipses over an image and lets you adjust opacity, fill or stroke. An obvious use for a club is to upload the floor plan and mark zones: billiard tables, bar, locker rooms. It is a visual aid, not a system that shows which table is free.
The theme also adds its own widgets (recent posts, social icons, portfolio), calls to action to capture leads, a location map, a preloader and a customizable 404 page.
