About Classima – Classified Ads WordPress Theme

Building a classifieds site often ends with a pretty theme that can't charge, can't filter and leaves users with nowhere to manage what they post. Classima starts from the opposite premise: the ad is the business unit, and everything revolves around publishing it, finding it and, if you want, charging to promote it.

A classifieds portal makes money from those who post, not from those who browse

A classifieds portal lives on balancing two things: enough ads so visitors come back, and a reasonable cost of posting so advertisers don't give up. Classima gives you tools for both sides, and the walkthrough below shows how.

From the first ad to the first payment with Classima

Imagine you are launching a local buy-and-sell and jobs portal. This would be the path:

  • You import a demo. There are several homepages built with Elementor and a one-click demo importer. You start from a structure and tweak it by dragging blocks, with your own colors and Google Fonts typefaces.
  • You define categories and fields. You can create unlimited categories and custom fields (text, text area, URL, number, select, radio and checkboxes), assigned by category or grouped. A car needs mileage; a flat needs square meters. Those fields can appear in the list and in the search filters.
  • You decide the ad types. Buy, sell, exchange, jobs or to-let, controlled from the admin.
  • You organize locations. Up to three levels (for example state, city and neighborhood) or custom levels, with location import and a Google map (it needs an API key).
  • You choose how ads get published. You can approve ads manually or automatically, set the duration in days, limit the number of images and let people without an account post (one is created automatically).

Charging for featured ads, subscriptions or stores

You can sell individual promotions (featured ad, top ad or bump up to push it higher), create memberships with a number of ads per category and a defined duration, or let users open their own store with a banner, description and opening hours. The included gateways are offline payment, PayPal, Stripe and Authorize.net, plus WooCommerce gateways if you use it.

Note: memberships and stores depend on the Store add-on, and the ad functionality relies on the Classified Listing and Classima Core plugins that come with the theme. This is not a theme that works on its own with ordinary WordPress posts.

What the user sees: searching, chatting and managing

Visitors filter by category and location with AJAX and autocomplete, and switch between grid and list (two styles of each), plus a map view and a map widget showing ad locations. They can save favorites, report abuse and write to the seller through a contact form or a buyer-seller chat, with images, PDFs and documents. The administrator can review those chats.

Whoever posts has a front-end dashboard: create, edit or delete ads, promote one, check favorites and review payments. ReCaptcha protects registration, posting, contact and abuse reports.

Frequently asked questions about Classima

Do I need to know how to code?

Not for the basics: Elementor, the customizer and the Redux panel cover design and options. A child theme is included for deeper changes.

Does it work in other languages?

It is translation ready, with WPML compatibility and a pot file, and it supports RTL.

Are the demo images included?

No. The premium demo images are only for showing the demo; you will have to use your own.

Can I charge without WooCommerce?

Yes: PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net and offline payment come built in.

What reviews does it support?

It includes ratings and reviews on ads. Moderate them: fake reviews can have legal consequences.
