About Directorist Coupon
A directory without traffic struggles to charge the people who list
Anyone who builds a paid directory soon runs into this: business owners hesitate before paying for a plan or featuring their listing, especially when the directory has no visits yet to prove it is worth it. Your income depends on convincing the people who list, not those who browse, and a well-placed discount pushes harder than yet another explanation of the plan.
Directorist Coupon is a Directorist extension that adds discount codes to the payment of plans and featured listings.
Three discount types for plans, featured listings and bookings
You can create an unlimited number of coupons and choose between these types:
- Percentage: a percentage off the payment.
- Fixed cart: a fixed amount subtracted from the total.
- Fixed product: a fixed amount tied to a specific pricing plan.
The codes work for paying for featured listings, buying pricing plans and, if you use the booking extension, services and appointments.
Usage limits and expiry so the promotion doesn't get away from you
Each coupon supports a maximum number of uses and an expiry date. That is what you need for a launch offer aimed at the first people to sign up, or for a campaign with a clear end, without the code circulating forever.
You have two ways to distribute them. With Directorist's announcement tool you can send the codes to listing owners from the settings panel. And with the coupon shortcode you can show all the coupons on a separate page, which works as a hook to turn a visitor into a registered user. Keep in mind that anything you publish on that page can be seen by anyone.
How to know if Directorist Coupon fits the way you charge
It needs the Directorist plugin installed, because it is an extension and does not work on its own. It also does not work with WooCommerce Pricing Plan: if you charge for your plans through it, it won't be useful. And discounts on bookings and appointments require Directorist Booking, a separate paid extension. It is a discount tool and nothing more.
Can I use it without Directorist?
No. It is an add-on for the Directorist plugin and depends on it.
Does it work if my plans are charged with WooCommerce Pricing Plan?
No, it is not compatible with that plan system.
Can I offer discounts on bookings?
Yes, as long as you also have Directorist Booking.
Can I limit how many times a code is used and until when?
Yes: each coupon supports a maximum number of uses and an expiry date.
