About Estudiar – College University

A university website expires every academic year

A prospective student finds your university, opens the fees page and sees last year's figures. She checks the deadlines and the date has passed, or perhaps nobody changed it. She cannot tell which of the two is true, and while she finds out she already has two other institutions open.

Almost everything that decides an enrollment carries a date: fees, financial aid, deadlines, the start of classes. An educational institution publishes data with an expiry date, and every outdated item casts doubt on the rest of the site. The design is commissioned once; those pages need an owner every year.

Estudiar, by VamTam, is a WordPress theme for universities, colleges and training centers. Its demo already separates that data into pages of its own, so you can assign each one to the person who maintains it.

The admission pages in the demo

  • How to apply: the process step by step and the entry requirements.
  • Tuition and fees: tables by program, split into domestic and international students.
  • Dates and deadlines: accommodation, orientation, term start and end and recesses, by program.
  • Financial aid and scheduling of campus tours.
  • Application form in five blocks: personal details, academic history, chosen studies, documentation with file upload and declaration.
  • Student life, faculty directory, alumni and giving as sections of their own.

Elementor Pro inside, and a shop if you need one

  • With Elementor Pro: header, footer, mega menus, forms and pop-ups.
  • Dynamic layouts: posts, products, archives, search results, 404 error, maintenance and coming soon.
  • Per-device control: mobile and tablet settings, custom breakpoints and RTL support.
  • Removable theme code widget by widget, if you prefer the original Elementor for some piece.
  • WooCommerce: builder for product, cart, checkout, My Account and side cart, with wishlist, Ajax search and gift cards.
  • Demo images you can use in your project.

It is compatible with WPML.

Classes, assignments and grades stay outside Estudiar

Estudiar presents the institution. Its features do not include course management or an LMS, so classes, assignments and grades need another tool.

The demo's fee tables are content someone must edit. Their texts belong to a fictional university and mention the name Kempbelle University, including in the form's privacy notice, and the figures are for 2020/2021. Review all those pages before publishing.

The form asks for personal documents. Decide before opening it who receives each application and where those files are stored.

Requirements and first steps with Estudiar

You need WordPress, Elementor and Elementor Pro, which the demo importer and the theme setup require. WooCommerce completes the list and powers the shop.

A sensible order for a school:

  1. Install the theme and plugins, and import the demo.
  2. Replace the university name in pages, footer and forms.
  3. List the pages with a date or an amount and assign an owner to each one.
  4. Set the form's destination and send a test application with attachments.
  5. Remove the sections your school will not maintain.

UniCamp, EduBlink or LearnDash, depending on what you teach online

If the institution also teaches through the website, UniCamp combines the institutional pages with Tutor LMS Pro and events through Events Manager.

For an academy focused on selling courses, EduBlink is compatible with six course platforms and integrates Zoom.

If Estudiar convinces you as a showcase and only the classroom is missing, LearnDash adds courses, lessons and quizzes as a separate plugin.

Schools, forms and online classes with Estudiar

Does it work without Elementor Pro?

Plan on having it: Elementor Pro is needed to import the demo and set up the theme.

Does it suit a school or high school?

Yes, it is meant for educational centers in general, although the demo uses a university structure.

Is the application form included?

It is part of the demo and uses Elementor Pro forms, like the theme's other forms.

Can I teach online with it?

An LMS is not among its features, so you will need a separate one.

Does it support right-to-left languages?

Yes, it includes RTL support.
