About FooEvents for WooCommerce
Sell tickets without paying a commission on each one
Running an event through a third-party platform usually means a commission per ticket, attendee data in someone else's hands and a checkout page that does not look like yours. With FooEvents for WooCommerce the sale happens in your own WooCommerce store, with no commission or per-ticket fee.
At an event, the person who pays is not always the person who walks in. A company buys ten tickets, a mother signs up three kids for a workshop. If you only keep the buyer's email, on the day of the event you have a list of payments, not a list of people. That is why it matters that the plugin collects details for each attendee and not just for the order.
What FooEvents for WooCommerce does with every order
- Details for each attendee: they are collected at purchase.
- Tickets with your branding: you control how they look and how they are sent. There are over 20 free ticket themes, or you can design your own.
Door access control with free apps
On the day of the event, the bottleneck is the entrance. The FooEvents check-in apps are free and are used to validate tickets and track attendance while the line keeps moving.
If you also want to sell at the door, FooEvents Point of Sale exists, but it is a separate extension, not included in the base plugin.
Time-slot bookings, seating and PDF are separate extensions
The base plugin covers ticket sales and management. Everything else is added with other pieces or is up to you:
- With a FooEvents extension: PDF tickets (PDF Tickets), custom attendee fields (Custom Attendee Fields), bookings for spots or time slots (Bookings), multi-day events (Multi-day), seat selection (Seating), calendar (Calendar) and door sales (Point of Sale).
- On your side: WooCommerce installed and set up, the payment gateway, the hosting, the terms of sale and the refund policy for your event.
Before deciding, note down what you need from the second list and check in the demo which part is in the base plugin.
Virtual and hybrid events with Zoom
FooEvents can be connected to Zoom to automatically pre-register attendees for meetings or webinars, one-off or recurring, when they buy the ticket. The plugin sells and records access; broadcasting the event remains Zoom's job.
Questions before setting up your first event
Do I need WooCommerce?
Yes. FooEvents for WooCommerce runs on top of WooCommerce.
Does it charge a commission per ticket?
It charges no commission or per-ticket fee. The fees of your payment gateway are still yours.
Does it work for classes and workshops?
Yes, it is also aimed at courses, conferences, concerts and sports events. If you need to book specific spots or time slots, look at the Bookings extension.
Can attendees choose their seat?
Not with the base plugin: seat selection is the Seating extension.
