About Gallery Custom Links (Pro)
Galleries where every image has to lead somewhere else
A gallery of clients, products or projects is usually built in a hurry: you upload the images, link the first few and the rest are left without a destination. Nobody checks until a visitor clicks a photo and nothing happens, or lands on a page that no longer exists.
It suits you if your gallery works as a shop window: client logos that lead to their website, products that lead to their page, projects that lead to a case study. And above all if there are many images and the destinations change over time.
It does not suit you if you want to build galleries from scratch: Gallery Custom Links links images from galleries you already have, it does not replace a gallery plugin. Nor if your photos are only meant to be looked at, with nowhere to lead. And remember there is a free version that already lets you assign a URL to each image; Pro only pays off if what costs you effort is maintaining those links.
Gallery Custom Links Pro and the images left without a link
The problem with a linked gallery is not adding the first link, but knowing which ones are missing. Pro finds the images that have no link, so you do not have to open the galleries one by one looking for gaps.
It is a maintenance task rather than a design one: it is more like going through a list than laying out a page.

Pro lets you change any link directly from the Media Library.
It saves clicks.
What changes compared with the free version
- The free one: linking gallery images to a specific URL.
- Pro: finding the images that have no link.
- Pro: changing any link from the Media Library.
- Pro: a few minor conveniences for day-to-day work.
If your gallery has ten photos you never touch, the free version is probably enough. Pro makes sense when the gallery grows and looking after the links becomes a recurring task.

Does it work with any gallery plugin?
You cannot take for granted a list of compatible galleries. Try the free version first with the gallery you use today and check that the links are applied the way you expect.
Does it create galleries?
No. It works on images from galleries that already exist and gives them a destination.
Can I link to any page?
Each image is tied to the URL you specify, so you choose the destination.
Is it worth it with only a few images?
Rarely. Its advantage shows up when there are quite a few images and the links change, because that is where time is lost hunting for gaps.
