About GamiPress - Daily Login Rewards

A login streak is designed around what someone loses by missing a day

A daily rewards calendar is imagined from the prize: what is given on day one, what on day seven. But the member who misses a day forces you to decide something else, from the start.

In a calendar with a streak, what you decide someone loses by missing a day weighs as much as what you give every day.

GamiPress Daily Login Rewards is a GamiPress add-on that creates calendars of rewards for logging in. You can require logins to be consecutive and set a penalty for anyone who does not sign in on a given day. Each reward can be points, an achievement or a rank.

What each rewards calendar includes

  • Unlimited calendars: you create as many as you like.
  • Consecutive login: it is a completion requirement, with its penalty when the streak breaks.
  • Limited availability: each calendar can have a start date, an end date or both.
  • Repeatable: a calendar can repeat a limited number of times or without limit.
  • Chained calendars: as a requirement to start a new one, you can ask that another be completed.
  • Pop-up: you choose which calendars appear in a pop-up when the user earns a reward.
  • Stamp effect: it marks which rewards have already been earned.
  • Display options: columns and reward image sizes for each calendar.
  • Several rewards on the same day: a setting allows it.

A calendar is placed with a shortcode, a block or, in a sidebar, a widget. There is also a shortcode, a block and a widget that show only the current day's reward.

The add-on adds events to use as requirements of other achievements: earning any reward, any points, achievement or rank reward, each with a variant for a specific calendar, and earning all the rewards of a calendar.

Administrators have a tool to award rewards by hand from the calendar edit screen and a generator that creates calendars quickly.

A week of growing prizes

Think of a calendar of seven rewards completed by logging in seven days in a row. One possible setup:

  1. You create the calendar and assign a reward to each day.
  2. You ask for consecutive login and define the penalty for skipping a day.
  3. You choose whether the calendar repeats and how many times.
  4. You turn on the pop-up so the user sees their reward when earning it.
  5. You place the calendar on a page with the shortcode or the block.

It is a starting proposal; change it as you like.

Limits of login calendars

  • It needs GamiPress. The rewards are GamiPress points, achievements or ranks.
  • The user earns the day's reward on login. The add-on also checks for rewards when the site is visited, which helps people who ticked "remember me".
  • The penalty only removes calendar rewards the user has truly earned.
  • With the several-rewards-per-day option, several can be earned on the same day. It is worth deciding that before publishing.
