A rental marketplace gets complicated when the money has to be split
Building an accommodation directory is the easy part. The hard part comes when a guest books, pays a deposit, cancels, and someone has to decide who keeps what. If that is handled by hand, with bank transfers and spreadsheets, the first person to lose patience is the owner who never knows when they will get paid.
GeoDirectory Marketplace Booking adds a commission-based booking system to your GeoDirectory directory: owners sell their bookings and you earn a percentage of each one, plus an optional service fee. The key to the business is not the calendar, but having the payment and cancellation rules clear before the first booking arrives.

You, running the marketplace
You decide the commission and whether to add a service fee. You also choose what is charged at booking (the full amount, a deposit or nothing) and how long a booking can stay pending without payment before it is cancelled automatically. Emails can be adapted to your brand, so guests and owners get the information they need.
The owner of a house or an apartment
They can set a standard nightly price or different prices for specific days. To fill dates they offer discounts for longer stays, last-minute deals or early bookings. They also set minimum and maximum stay lengths, restrict check-in and check-out days and block the dates when the property is unavailable.
The owner with several rooms
From a single listing they manage several rooms, each with its own price and availability. That is what a property that rents by the room, rather than as a whole unit, needs.
The guest
They book and pay according to what you have configured: the full amount, a deposit or nothing at that moment.
How money flows with GetPaid
All payments are collected and processed with GetPaid. What belongs to each owner builds up in their GetPaid wallet and they can request a withdrawal whenever they want. For you, that means a practical decision: you will have to organize how you handle those withdrawals.
- Commission and service fee: your income from every booking made in the marketplace.
- Cancellation policies: you offer several and each owner picks theirs, so the terms are clear for both sides.
- Pending bookings: if payment does not arrive within the time limit you set, the booking is cancelled automatically.
Frequently asked questions before setting up the marketplace
Does it work without GeoDirectory? No. It is an add-on for GeoDirectory.
Can I charge with a gateway other than GetPaid? Payments are handled exclusively with GetPaid, so plan on installing and configuring it.
Can guests book without paying at that moment? Yes, you can choose to charge nothing at booking, or only a deposit or the full amount.
What happens if the guest does not pay? The booking stays pending for the time you have defined and is then cancelled automatically.
Can a property offer several rooms? Yes, from the same listing, each with its own price and availability.
It only charges through GetPaid and depends on GeoDirectory
It is not a standalone booking system: it needs the core GeoDirectory plugin and GetPaid for payments. If you want another payment gateway or a directory that does not use GeoDirectory, this add-on is not the right fit.
