About Gift Wrapper for WooCommerce
If you sell gifts with date pressure, not everyday goods for personal use
Someone buying a gift online doesn't only want it to arrive: they want it to arrive ready to hand over. If the store offers no wrapping, the buyer wraps it at home at the last minute, or goes to another store that does. Gift Wrapper for WooCommerce suits stores whose catalog is often bought as gifts: cosmetics, jewelry, stationery, toys, delicatessen, decor.
It won't add much if almost your whole catalog is for personal use or if it's virtual content. Also, it doesn't handle the physical work: the plugin records the customer's choice and charges for it, but the wrapping itself is still done by your warehouse.
Wrap a product or the whole order, with or without designs
Customers can tick the gift option next to the add to cart button, or wrap the entire order from the cart or checkout page. There are two ways to work:
- With designs: you create as many papers as you want, each with an optional price. They can be global or specific to one product.
- Without designs: a simple wrapping option, with no catalog of papers.
When a design is chosen on the product page, the cost is added to the price and the total updates. For the whole order, the chosen design is added to the cart as a wrapping product. Customers can also write a personalized message.
When the customer buys several units or several gifts
This is where wrapping often fails: three units of one product don't fit in a single paper. With Maximum Product Quantity Per Wrapper you set how many units go in each wrapper; if it's exceeded, more wrappers are added automatically and each one is charged. The order wrapping price can also be multiplied by the number of items.
If someone wants to give gifts to several people in a single order, enable the multiple groups mode: the customer clicks "Wrap Items Together", chooses the items and quantities of each group, and selects a design and message for each one.
Control over who sees the option and how it is shown
- Limit wrapping to specific products.
- Hide it from certain users or roles, or from guests.
- Exclude virtual products.
- Show the options in a pop-up or a toggle.
- Make it optional or mandatory.
- Choose whether order wrapping appears in the cart or at checkout, and in which position.
Product-level wrapping works with simple and variable products, and order wrapping supports all product types. It is also compatible with the cart and checkout blocks and with high performance order storage (HPOS).
What reaches your shipping team
The wrapping details appear in the order items section and in the order notes. Those notes let you flag the gift in ShipStation. The labels and messages the customer sees are edited from the WooCommerce settings, in the plugin's localization and messages sections.

Can I offer different papers depending on the product?
Yes. In each product's edit page there is a gift wrapper section where you create designs just for it.
Can I charge for wrapping?
It's optional: you can set a price per design or leave it free.
Can I hide it from non-registered customers?
Yes, you can hide it from guests and from specific roles.
What if they buy several units?
With the maximum units per wrapper, additional wrappers are added and charged automatically.
