About Gravity Forms CLI
Manage Gravity Forms from the terminal
Creating forms, importing entries or updating notifications through the admin dashboard is slow when you're working with dozens of sites or need to automate repetitive tasks. Gravity Forms CLI adds a complete set of WP-CLI commands that let you manage Gravity Forms forms, fields, notifications and entries straight from the command line, without touching the browser.
What it lets you do
The plugin extends WP-CLI with the wp gf command and a series of subcommands organized by resource type. With them you can create, duplicate, export and import entire forms in JSON format, edit their configuration with the system editor, and list forms along with their entry and view counts.
Forms: create, duplicate, export, import, edit and delete forms from the terminal.
Fields: add, list, update and delete individual fields on an existing form.
Notifications: manage a form's notifications (create, edit, list, duplicate and delete).
Entries: create entries from JSON or field-value pairs, export them, import them, edit them and resend their notifications.
License and installation: install Gravity Forms and its official add-ons, set up or update the database, and manage the license key, all with a single command.
Install and set up with a single command
One of the most useful features of Gravity Forms CLI is that it doesn't require Gravity Forms to already be installed. The wp gf install command downloads the latest available version, installs it, runs the necessary database setup, and saves the license key provided via the --key parameter or the GF_LICENSE_KEY constant. The same command can also install additional official add-ons, such as Surveys or Quiz, simply by specifying their slug.
It also includes maintenance tools such as checksum verification for the plugin's files, clearing transients, emptying the entry trash, and generating the system status report that's normally viewed from the Gravity Forms dashboard.
Who this is for
This add-on is built for developers and agencies managing multiple WordPress installs with Gravity Forms who need to automate deployments. It's especially handy if you build initial site setup scripts, maintain libraries of exported forms to reuse across different projects, or need to migrate entries and forms between development, staging and production environments without relying on the graphical interface.
It also streamlines scheduled maintenance tasks, such as periodic entry exports filtered by date, or bulk form updates from version-controlled configuration files.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need Gravity Forms installed before using this plugin?
Not necessarily. The wp gf install command downloads and installs Gravity Forms and runs the database setup automatically, as long as you have a valid license key.
Can I export and import forms between different sites?
Yes, the export and import commands for forms and entries work with JSON files compatible with Gravity Forms' native export format, making it easy to move configurations between installs.
Can it install official Gravity Forms add-ons?
Yes, by specifying the add-on's slug along with the license key in the install command, you can download and install additional official add-ons the same way as the core plugin.
Can it resend notifications for a specific entry?
Yes, the entry notifications command lets you check which notifications were triggered and resend them manually from the terminal.
