About GretaThemes – Floral

A personal blog buries its best posts under the new ones

People who run a personal blog publish with enthusiasm and, six months later, find that visitors only see the last three posts. The archive keeps growing, but almost nobody scrolls down to it. A theme for this kind of blog shouldn't just look pretty: it has to keep older content in circulation.

GretaThemes – Floral starts from that idea. It combines a classic design with several pieces meant to show more than the latest thing you published: a featured content slider, related posts and continuous loading of posts.

Slider, related posts and infinite scroll: three ways to rescue old posts

Each piece works at a different moment of the visit:

  • Featured content slider: a carousel on the homepage with the posts you most want people to read, not just the most recent ones.
  • Related posts: at the end of an article, it recommends earlier posts from your blog.
  • Infinite scroll: it loads more posts when the visitor reaches the bottom of the page, in automatic or manual mode.
  • Author section: it gives a face and a voice to a blog that is personal.
  • Sticky header and sidebar: the menu stays at the top and the sidebar stays alongside the content while reading.

Floral for fashion, travel and lifestyle, with a vintage palette

Its classic layout, careful typography and vintage-style color palette suit personal, lifestyle, fashion or travel blogs. It is compatible with the block editor (Gutenberg), so you can build your posts with blocks.

It is responsive, works in Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge, is translation ready and supports widgets, including the Instagram widget to show your photos in the footer or the sidebar.

Colors, fonts and related posts belong to the PRO version

Floral also comes in a free edition, and it's the one that breaks the most expectations: setup is manual and several of the pieces described above are missing. Check which one you install before planning your blog.

  • With the PRO version you get: one-click demo import, infinite scroll, custom fonts and colors, Instagram in the footer and related posts.
  • With the free version you get none of the above: setup is manual only.
  • You cover this yourself in any case: the photos, the writing and the editorial line. The theme provides the frame, not the content.
  • You will cover this with separate plugins: any feature that goes beyond a blog, such as a shop or a booking system.

Common questions before installing Floral

Does it work for a blog that isn't about fashion or travel?

You can use it, but the vintage palette and classic typography set a specific tone. Check it in the demo before deciding whether it fits your topic.

Can I change colors and typefaces?

Yes in the PRO version, which includes custom color and font options. Not in the free one.

Do I need a page builder?

Not to get started: Floral is compatible with the block editor and you can create your posts with it.

Does it look good on mobile?

Yes, the design is responsive and adapts to desktops, tablets and mobile phones.
