About Groundhogg - Fluent Forms

A form that collects data nobody follows up on is a lead drawer

Many businesses have Fluent Forms up and running and receive inquiries and quote requests, yet follow-up still depends on someone opening the notification email, copying the details and remembering to reply. When a contact arrives on a Friday afternoon, it goes cold. This connector links Fluent Forms with Groundhogg, the CRM and automation system that lives inside WordPress, so every submission becomes a contact and the start of a flow.

Groundhogg - Fluent Forms: what happens when someone submits the form

Once you activate the extension, a new Fluent Forms trigger appears in Groundhogg's flow editor. You choose the form you want to connect and that's it: every submission can start a follow-up sequence.

  • Starting automations: a form submission can be the starting point of a flow, for example to capture leads or quote requests.
  • Contact creation: the person who fills in the form is saved as a contact in Groundhogg.
  • Field mapping: you link each form field to a contact field or to contact meta, so you can use that information later in your communications.
  • Entries linked to the contact: you can navigate from the contact record to the form entry that originated it.

A more robust alternative to the Groundhogg form

Groundhogg includes its own form, but if you already work with Fluent Forms you can keep a more complete builder designed for non-technical users, even for complex forms. You don't have to rebuild what already works: you connect the existing form and decide which field goes where.

Without Groundhogg installed it does nothing

This connector is not a standalone plugin: it is an extension of Groundhogg and assumes you have Fluent Forms on your site. Here is what is already solved and what is up to you:

  • Solved: the trigger in the flow editor, choosing the form, mapping fields to contact data and the link between entry and contact.
  • On your own: installing and configuring Groundhogg and Fluent Forms, designing the form, writing the emails and building the follow-up flow.
  • On your own: deciding which form fields are worth saving. Mapping everything out of habit fills the CRM with data you will never use.

Who it makes sense for and who it doesn't

It fits if you already use Fluent Forms to capture potential customers and want follow-up to be automatic inside WordPress. If you don't use Groundhogg yet, first consider whether its CRM and its approach to automation convince you, because this connector only makes sense as part of that system. If your forms are just a contact form that you answer by hand once a week, you probably don't need it.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need both Fluent Forms and Groundhogg?

Yes. The connector links the two: without one of them it has no function.

What exactly does the trigger do?

It starts a Groundhogg flow when the form you have chosen is submitted, and it lets you assign the form fields to contact data.

Can I use the form information later?

Yes, as long as you map the fields to contact fields or to contact meta. Whatever you don't map won't reach the contact.

Does it replace the Groundhogg form?

It can: it lets you use Fluent Forms as the form builder instead of Groundhogg's default form.
