About Gustavo | Mexican Grill, Bar & Restaurant WordPress Theme

A PDF menu scares off people looking for dinner tonight

Someone searching for a Mexican restaurant on their phone usually does one thing: look at the menu. If they find a scanned PDF, a crooked photo or an endless page, they close it and try the next place. The problem for many venues is not an ugly website, but that what gets checked most (dishes, ingredients, what to order) is exactly what is handled worst.

Gustavo is a theme designed for that case: restaurants, grills, bars, cafes, pizzerias or bakeries that need the menu to look appetizing and be easy to find. Its design is colorful and starts from Mexican cuisine, although it suits other kinds of venues.

Gustavo treats each dish as content, not as a photo of the menu

The theme includes its own post format for the menu. Each dish can be sorted into categories and accompanied by a recipe and nutrition information, so customers browse by type of dish instead of scrolling through a single list.

  • Menu and recipes: advanced management from the dashboard, with no need to lay out the menu by hand.
  • Gallery and post layouts: several blog and post styles to show dishes, the venue and events.
  • Interactive Ajax search: visitors find content without changing pages.
  • Premade pages: products, team, menu, contact and shortcodes, so you don't start from scratch.

Reservations need the Booked Appointments plugin

Gustavo comes with contact and booking forms, but if you want a calendar with managed appointments, the theme relies on Booked Appointments, which is a separate plugin. It helps to be clear about what comes solved and what is up to you:

  • Already solved: contact and booking forms, shop design for WooCommerce, MailChimp integration, and Slider Revolution and Swiper as sliders.
  • With another plugin: the reservation calendar with appointment management (Booked Appointments) and the translation of the site if you need it multilingual (the theme is compatible with WPML).
  • By hand or with a professional: the photos and the menu texts (the demo images are not included), and the logic of selling food, such as delivery zones or pickup times, which WooCommerce does not hand you ready-made.

Editing Gustavo means working with WPBakery

The theme is built with WPBakery Page Builder, and with it you modify pages as well as headers and footers. If your team works with another builder, they will have to adapt to this one. It includes one-click demo import, color and typography options, boxed or full-width page layouts, and compatibility with Essential Grid to show content in grids.

For those who sell, WooCommerce compatibility lets you open a shop with the design integrated into the theme. For those who only want to showcase their venue, there is no need to activate it.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work if my venue is not Mexican?

Yes. It is designed for any food and drink business, such as cafes, bars, pizzerias, bistros or breweries. That said, the demo's look is Mexican and you will have to adjust colors, images and texts.

Can I sell food online?

You can set up a shop thanks to the WooCommerce compatibility. Delivery, timing and zones are something you configure yourself.

Does it manage reservations on its own?

It includes booking forms. For an appointment calendar, use the Booked Appointments plugin, with which it is compatible.

Does it work with Elementor?

It is built with WPBakery Page Builder, which is the builder you edit it with.
