About HBook Hotel Booking System Plugin
When someone books your property through a third-party portal, the booking is yours but the customer and part of the money are not. Owners of small hotels, B&Bs, apartments, villas or campsites often realize late how much each intermediary keeps, and that a website full of beautiful photos books nothing without a booking engine behind it.
HBook turns your website into a direct booking channel
HBook adds booking forms, availability calendars and rate tables to any WordPress page. They are inserted with shortcodes or Gutenberg blocks, so they adapt to the theme you already use. The plugin also states compatibility with Elementor, WPBakery, Beaver Builder and WPML, among others.
The underlying idea is that direct booking should not compete with the portals but complement them: you can keep receiving bookings from them and still have your own channel with no commission per booking.
Rates, payments and calendars: what HBook does and where it falls short
Pricing with rules
- Seasonal rates and length-of-stay discounts.
- Extra-person pricing and additional services.
- Coupons, vouchers and conditional discounts.
- Advanced booking rules for complex pricing cases.
Payments
It includes Stripe and PayPal to charge a deposit or the full amount. You can require full payment when check-in is close, or accept offline payment (bank transfer, pay on arrival). With Stripe you can charge or refund from the dashboard and send payment links. Security deposits, fees and taxes are calculated automatically.
Syncing with portals
iCal synchronization is two-way with Airbnb, Booking.com and similar platforms, which helps avoid double bookings. It is a calendar exchange through iCal, not a direct connection to each portal: update times depend on how each platform reads those calendars.
Day-to-day management
Reservation calendar, customer list, automatic invoicing, CSV export and automatic or manual emails for guests and administrators. It also generates documents such as invoices, contracts or receipts. The customer details form builder is drag and drop.
Worth knowing: regional payment gateways (40+) are installed as separate add-ons, and charging, refunding and payment links from the dashboard are mentioned for Stripe. It is a booking engine for WordPress, not a full channel manager.
Frequently asked questions about HBook
Is it useful for anything besides hotels?
Yes: it is designed for hotels, B&Bs, holiday apartments, villas and campsites.
Does it charge a commission per booking?
No, the plugin applies no commission on bookings. You will only pay the fees of the payment gateway you choose.
Can I charge only a deposit?
Yes, you can charge a deposit or the full amount, and require full payment when the check-in date is near.
Does it work in several languages?
It is ready for WPML, Polylang and qTranslate-X, and comes translated into more than 9 languages.
Can it sync with Airbnb and Booking.com?
Yes, through two-way iCal.
Rates and iCal calendars first, design afterwards
To avoid surprises, start by defining your rooms or properties, seasons and pricing rules, because everything the guest sees comes from them. Then connect the iCal calendars from your portals and make test bookings in both directions to confirm that dates get blocked where they should.
Finally, place the shortcodes or blocks on your pages, adjust the customer form and test the payment flow with the method you plan to use. Also check the automatic emails and documents before opening the website to customers.
