Building a website for a tour company often ends with a homepage full of pretty photos and no information that helps people decide: who leads the trip, when the next group leaves and what the terrain is like. Pathter is designed for that case: hiking, rafting, biking and other outdoor trips with tour pages, guide profiles, galleries and a blog.
It suits a small or mid-sized operator who explains their routes, introduces their team and collects enquiries. It is not what you want if you need to book and pay for places directly on the site: the demo shows no booking or payment system, so you would have to solve that part separately. Also check in the demo how the schedule is displayed before deciding whether it is enough for you.
People booking a mountain route compare guides, not trails
The Pathter demo understands this well: it has a tours section split by region and activity (hiking, biking and rafting on the east and west coasts), a guides section with one page per person and their biography, and a schedule page. That answers the visitor's two real questions: who they are going with and when they can go.
- Tours: one page per route, grouped by activity and region.
- Guides: an individual profile with text and links to social networks. Review the icons in the demo and remove any for networks you no longer use.
- Schedule: a page of planned departures.
Four headers and three footers so it doesn't look like the demo
The theme includes four header styles and three footer styles. It also has its own 404 page and a page showing the typographic styles, handy for checking how your texts will look.
For side content it offers a sidebar on the left, on the right or none at all, depending on the page.
The demo homepage organises the content of a tour operator
The demo homepage combines an opening message, the company story, the team of guides, photos from recent trips, featured tours, latest blog posts and a subscription form to receive discounts and tips. It is a good roadmap for organising your own content.
A blog with six formats to tell hikers what they need to know
In this field the blog is not filler: the sample posts cover orienteering, essential equipment and the dangers of cold weather, exactly what reassures someone who is unsure about signing up. Pathter supports image, gallery, video, link, quote and audio posts, and list, masonry or three-column grid layouts.
