Pasting tracking codes into your theme costs you when you change designs
Pasting the Google Analytics code or the Facebook pixel into header.php seems quickest, until you update the theme and everything vanishes without warning. Then come weeks of lost data that nobody notices until someone asks why visits dropped to zero.
HT Script Pro keeps those snippets outside the theme and prints them in the header or the footer. Switching or updating the theme doesn't touch them.
What you can insert with HT Script Pro and where on the page
You can add unlimited scripts and choose for each one whether it goes in the header or the footer. It works for:
- Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel.
- Your own JavaScript.
- Custom CSS.
- Custom HTML.
Each script is a separate entry with its own description, and the list shows a status column so you can see which ones are active. With many snippets, that saves you from opening them one by one to find out what each does.
Load each script only where it's needed
The most valuable part here is control over where each code loads. A conversion pixel that fires on every page muddies your data and slows down pages that don't need it. You can show a script:
- Across the whole site.
- Only on the homepage.
- On specific pages or posts.
- On selected categories or tags.
You can also exclude pages and posts. If you select no page or post, the script loads across the whole site. It supports category and product archives.
A practical example: an order tracking code only on the thank-you page, and the Analytics code everywhere except a landing page measured by another tool.
Decide whether a code inserter is enough, and get answers to common questions
HT Script Pro is a code snippet manager, not an analytics assistant. It doesn't generate the Analytics or pixel code: you have to copy it from each platform and paste it in. It doesn't create events or set up conversions for you either. If you only need one global code across the site, almost any simple inserter will do; this one pays off when you need rules by page, category or tag.
Do I have to touch the theme code?

Can I limit a code to one category?

It doesn't check it for you. Test each script on a page and verify in the relevant tool that it fires where you expect.
