An unprotected public form takes a few days to be discovered by the bots. From then on come messages in languages you do not speak offering you search rankings and cryptocurrency.

When it pays

If forms bring you clients. When one enquiry is worth money, losing one through carelessness costs more than any licence.

About licensing and the GPL

The code is distributed under the GPL licence and its use is free. Updates, support and activation against the maker's servers are separate services contracted with them. They are not the same thing, and buying one is not buying the other.
