About Kristo – Modern Magazine WordPress Theme

An online magazine loses readers over what they cannot find

Building a news site or magazine often ends in messy front pages, articles that are hard to read on mobile and visitors who arrive for one story and leave without seeing a second.

Whoever installs a theme like this lives on frequent publishing and on each visit lasting longer than one article. That is why decoration matters less than how pieces link to each other, how sections are separated and how comfortable reading stays.

Elementor news blocks and front page layout

Kristo works with Elementor Page Builder and includes its own news blocks to build the front page and section pages without touching code. Listings can be shown as a list or as a grid of 2, 3 or 4 columns, and there are different category variations and post layouts.

  • Smart sticky header: the chosen bar appears when you scroll up, so the menu returns just when the reader wants to move around.
  • Reading time: each article can show how long it takes to read.
  • Related posts and breadcrumb: they help readers move from one story to another and know where they are.
  • Mailchimp form: to collect subscribers for your newsletter.
  • Colors and typography: changed from the customization panel, with live preview in the WordPress customizer.
  • Icons and fonts: FontAwesome, Icofont, Remix icons and Google fonts.

What you should be clear about

The news blocks are built for Elementor, so the page builder is part of the work. It is compatible with Elementor Pro, WooCommerce, WPML and Visual Composer, but that does not make Kristo a store or a ready multilingual site: WooCommerce and WPML are separate plugins you have to install. Personalized support from the author is not included.

Questions people ask when building a magazine with Kristo

Is it only for news?

No. Its focus is magazines and blogs, and it fits topics such as sports, fashion, technology, travel, health, beauty or politics, as long as what you publish is editorial content.

Do I need to know CSS or HTML?

Not for normal use: you lay pages out with Elementor and adjust them from the customizer. If you want deeper changes, the included child theme lets you make them without losing your settings.

Does it look good on high-resolution screens and on mobile?

It is responsive and ready for Retina screens.

Can I sell products?

It is compatible with WooCommerce, but it is a magazine theme: if a store is your main goal, another theme will fit better.

Demos import with one click and get adjusted afterwards

Kristo lets you import the demo content in one go. It is the fastest way to see how the front page, categories and posts look, but the result will bring sample texts and images that you will need to replace with your own.

  • Import the demo closest to your topic and review the front page before deleting anything.
  • Change colors and typography from the customizer so it does not look like the demo.
  • Set up the Mailchimp form with your own account.
  • If you will work in several languages, install WPML before loading final content.
  • Make code changes in the child theme.

Also check in the live demo how the sticky header and the post list behave on your phone before deciding.
