About Laser
A bar that doesn't speed anything up, but makes the wait easier to bear
A visitor on a phone with a poor signal stares at a blank screen and can't tell whether your site is loading or has frozen. Many don't wait to find out. Laser adds a page loading progress bar that fills as the page advances, so people arriving know something is happening.
It helps to understand this from the start: Laser is an indicator, not an optimizer. It makes the wait feel better, but it doesn't reduce the real loading time. If your site is slow because of heavy images or a slow hosting, the bar will help people hold on, not fix the problem.
How Laser works without you having to set up a process
The plugin detects the page loading percentage by itself and shows it on the bar. Once installed and activated, it is ready to work.
- Color and gradient: you can use any color or a gradient so the bar matches your brand.
- Height and position: you choose the thickness and the place on the page where it appears.
- Scope: it can apply to the whole site or only to specific pages.
- Native JavaScript: it is written without jQuery, which is welcome if you care about your site's weight.
- Right-to-left writing: it supports RTL sites.

A loading bar is not the same as real speed
Before installing it, be clear about these boundaries:
- It doesn't compress images, cache pages or reduce requests. For that you need other tools.
- It is a visual effect: if your page already loads almost instantly, the bar will barely be seen.
- A badly placed bar, or one with a color that clashes with your header, can look like a flaw. Try it in the demo with your palette.

No. It shows loading progress, but the real time depends on your hosting, your images and your code.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Setup is done from the admin panel: color, height, position and where it appears.
Can I use it only on some pages?
Yes. It can work across the whole site or on individual pages.
Does it work with my page builder or with WooCommerce?
It is advertised as compatible with the main page builders, with Gutenberg and with WooCommerce. Still, check the result on your own theme before publishing.
Does it load jQuery?
No: it uses native JavaScript, without jQuery.
