About LearnPress Content Drip Add-on
When the student binges the course over a weekend and never comes back
Selling an online course has a trap: the enthusiastic student buys, binges lessons over two afternoons, skips the exercises, and a week later remembers nothing and never opens the platform again. Content Drip Add-on for LearnPress tackles that problem at the access level: each lesson, quiz or assignment opens when you decide, not when the student is in a hurry.
Three ways to open a lesson: by date, by days or by progress
- By time: the lesson unlocks a number of days after enrollment, or on a fixed date you choose for each item.
- By completion: the student must first complete the previous lessons or quizzes.
- By prerequisite: you mark specific lessons as a required foundation before moving on to more advanced topics.
You can combine conditions: for example, "finish lesson 2 AND wait two days". Timings can be changed on any item without rebuilding the course.
What the student sees when something is locked
A lock with no explanation looks like a bug. The plugin shows a countdown on the locked lesson, adjusted to the student's time zone, and lets you write custom messages for anyone who tries to get in early.
Which setup suits each type of course
If you are preparing a pre-sale course
With fixed dates you can sell the course before it is fully recorded and release the material bit by bit as you finish it.
If you run a multi-week program
Dripping by days since enrollment gives each student their own pace, whenever they start. Everyone gets week one when they sign up, not everyone at the same time.
If you need people to really practice
Combine the condition of completing the previous lesson with a wait. The student cannot skip the quiz or the exercises to reach the end sooner.
If an instructor manages their own courses
Instructors can access the drip settings page, without depending on the site administrator.
It needs LearnPress and only regulates lessons, quizzes and assignments
It is an add-on: it does not work without the LearnPress plugin. Its job is to control when each course item opens; it does not create content, does not send reminder emails to students on its own and is not a sales or certificate tool. If you want to notify people by email that a new lesson is available, you will have to solve that with another tool.
