When video and PDFs are no longer enough for students to learn
An online course with text lessons, a video and a quiz at the end has a well-known problem: the student consumes but doesn't practise. They drop out halfway or reach the exam without having checked anything along the way. LearnPress H5P Integration Addon lets you place interactive activities inside your LearnPress lessons, without leaving your WordPress site.
The hardest part of online training isn't uploading content, but knowing whether it has been understood. An interactive activity in the middle of a lesson gives that clue to the student and to you, long before the final exam.
What LearnPress H5P Integration Addon does inside your lessons
The addon connects LearnPress with H5P content, the open format for creating interactive HTML5 activities. The features that matter:
- Embed H5P content in lessons, questions and course material, using drag and drop or shortcodes.
- More than 40 H5P content types: interactive videos, quizzes with several question types, drag-and-drop exercises, flashcards, timelines, course presentations and more.
- Score synchronisation: if the H5P activity has a grading structure, its result can be reflected in LearnPress quizzes, so you track performance from the same place.
- Flexible display: you can show the content in an iframe or inline, depending on your course design, and it adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile.
What it needs to work
It doesn't work on its own. This addon is the bridge, not the editor. Also, only activities with grading have their scores synchronised: purely explanatory content, such as a timeline, won't produce a grade.
Don't expect advanced analytics out of the box either. Detailed interaction reports require connecting an H5P Hub or an xAPI Learning Record Store, with their own setup.

How to assess the course with H5P and quizzes
One of the most useful ideas is combining pass criteria. The addon includes course evaluation with H5P passed, or with H5P and quizzes both passed. That way you can require students to pass the interactive activities before the course counts as finished, instead of letting them skip them.
Think about which activities will be mandatory and which are extra practice: if everything counts towards passing, a student stuck on a drag-and-drop exercise may end up without certification.
Test one complete lesson first
Before redoing your whole catalogue, activate LearnPress, the H5P plugin and this addon, create an activity with grading and place it in a test lesson. Check three things: that the score reaches the quiz, that the iframe or inline mode fits your template, and that it looks good on mobile. That will tell you whether the workflow suits you before you migrate the rest of your courses.
