About MainWP Pro Reports Extension
The client who renews without knowing what they received
Well-done website maintenance leaves almost no trace: if everything works, the client notices nothing and, at renewal time, wonders why they pay every month. The report is the moment your work becomes something readable, and it is best that they see it before they have to ask. MainWP Pro Reports Extension is the MainWP reporting engine for agencies that manage several sites from a single Dashboard.
Templates in PHP, HTML and CSS that you can tweak
It includes professional templates written in PHP, HTML and CSS, so if you or someone on your team knows some code, you can adapt them to each type of client. The flow is simple: you set your preferences, choose a template and add your own content.
- Tokens: you can use the existing ones or create new ones so that each report carries its own client's data.
- Your brand: add your logo and brand colors, and save the layout to reuse it and keep the same image across all communications.
MainWP Pro Reports Extension lets you decide what each client sees
Not all clients want the same thing: some are happy with a short summary and others expect the detail. Here you choose which data goes into each report, so you don't show more than is appropriate or hide what they do want to see.
Once the report is ready, everything is done from the MainWP Dashboard: save a draft, preview it, download the PDF or send it straight to the client. In the email settings you control how it is sent, and you can include tokens in the email text to encourage opening the attached PDF, where the detail is.
Data from other extensions and REST API access
The report can display data from other MainWP extensions. One example is Advanced Uptime Monitor, which lets you include the uptime of your clients' sites. There is also access to the data through REST API, with a list of endpoints, in case you want to pull information for your own analysis.
It needs MainWP Child Reports on every client site
It is an extension, not a standalone tool, and this is what you should be clear about before relying on it:
- Already solved: report design, templates, tokens, logo and colors, draft, preview, PDF and email delivery.
- Already solved: displaying data from other MainWP extensions, such as Advanced Uptime Monitor, if you use them.
- You cover it: installing the MainWP Child Reports plugin on all of your clients' sites, because it is what collects the data the report is built from. It can be installed from the WordPress.org repository.
- You cover it: having the MainWP Dashboard up and running, since the extension lives inside it.
- You cover it: deep design changes, which require editing the template code.
- You cover it: explaining to the client what the data means. The report shows it, but it doesn't replace a call when something has gone wrong.
Questions before you set up your reports
Does it work without MainWP Child Reports?
No. That plugin must be installed on every child site to collect the report data.
Can I change the templates?
Yes. They are built with PHP, HTML and CSS, so they can be adapted. For simple adjustments, tokens, your logo and colors are enough.
Can I send the report without leaving the dashboard?
Yes. From the MainWP Dashboard you can email it to the client, with the PDF attached, or download it to send by another route.
Can I include site uptime?
Yes, through the Advanced Uptime Monitor extension, which brings that data from the child sites into the report.
