About Maxcom -Nonprofit Charity WordPress Theme
A small charity doesn't lose donors for lack of a cause, but because its website doesn't say what is being funded
Building a charity website usually ends in a homepage with emotional photos, a donate button and little else. Someone willing to give can't see which specific project needs money or how much is being asked for. Maxcom is a theme for nonprofit organizations that puts campaigns front and center: in its demo each one appears with its title, an amount and its own Donate Now button.
Donors rarely give because of an organization's general mission; they give for something with a name, like building a school. That's why it makes sense for the theme to have a separate causes page.
Maxcom depending on who will maintain it
A charity that raises money by campaign
The demo homepage reserves a block for the latest campaigns, with title and amount. There is also a causes page. This is the structure you need if each project is presented and funded separately.
A volunteer group or a parish
The demo includes a volunteers section with name and phone number, a team page and a call to become a volunteer. The structure (causes, events, people) works for a parish or a neighborhood association, although nothing in the demo is specific to churches.
An organization that lives off its events
There is an events page and, on the homepage, activity blocks with date, time slot and place. If your calendar is made of charity dinners, talks or fundraising days, the format is already designed for it.
Someone who needs to show what they do
The gallery has category filters and several layouts: two, three or four columns, with or without spacing between images. It lets you show activities without cramming everything onto a single page.
Four homepages, a blog with a sidebar and a pricing page
Maxcom offers four starting points for the home page: Home, Home 2, Home Video and Home One Page. The video version suits an organization with a good institutional video; the one-page version suits one that just wants a simple presence.
- Blog: in a grid, with a sidebar on the left or right, or in two columns with a sidebar.
- Inner pages: About, Services, Pricing, Team and Contact.
- Footer: a description of the organization, a recent gallery, a newsletter form and contact details.
The pricing page is useful if you offer membership fees or donation tiers, but you will have to adapt its content to your case.
Questions to ask before choosing Maxcom
How many homepage versions does it include?
Four: Home, Home 2, Home Video and Home One Page.
Does it process donations by itself?
The demo shows campaigns and Donate Now buttons, but it doesn't specify which payment gateway is behind them. Before counting on built-in payments, check in the demo where that button leads.
Can I use it for a church or a foundation?
Yes, if what you need is to present causes, events, volunteers and news. You supply the texts and images.
Does it have a blog for publishing news?
Yes, with five layouts: grid, left sidebar, right sidebar and two two-column variants.
The demo's texts, amounts and counters are placeholders
The demo is full of filler text, sample addresses and phone numbers, fictional campaigns and impact figures that aren't yours. All of it has to be replaced with real data, especially the amounts and the achievement counters: publishing figures that don't match your activity damages donors' trust.
