A sign-up form that gets stuck behind the cache, reloads the page or clashes with the theme is a badly placed door: people arrive, don't get in and you never find out. MC4WP Premium is an add-on for the free Mailchimp for WordPress plugin and is made for that buyer: blogs, stores and service websites that already send their campaigns with Mailchimp.
It's not for you if you use another email marketing service: it connects WordPress with Mailchimp and nothing else. It doesn't send newsletters or replace the Mailchimp editor either: it collects and syncs contacts, and campaigns are still designed and sent in Mailchimp. You need a Mailchimp account and the base plugin installed, and it's worth knowing that it isn't developed by or affiliated with Mailchimp.
Unlimited forms that submit without reloading the page
The base plugin already offers accessible forms and lets you turn any form you already have on your site into a Mailchimp sign-up. You can place them in posts, pages, widget areas or PHP templates. The Premium part adds unlimited forms that submit without reloading the page and work with all types of caching, a common failure on sites with aggressive optimization.
For design, there is a visual interface to change how the form looks without writing code. It helps if your usual problem is that the form button doesn't resemble the rest of the theme's buttons.
MC4WP Premium and the attempt log: what your list doesn't tell you
Your Mailchimp audience only shows the people who made it to the end. About those who tried and didn't end up inside, nothing. The statistics log records every sign-up attempt, shows it in trend charts and exports it to CSV with one click, so you can compare attempts with the contacts you actually have.
Subscriber activity completes the picture: subscribes and unsubscribes for any of your audiences over the period you choose, without leaving the WordPress dashboard.
Users and store connected to Mailchimp
- User Sync: when a WordPress user updates their profile, the subscriber is updated in Mailchimp, and the other way around too.
- E-commerce integration: it lets you know what your subscribers buy, offer recommendations and recover abandoned carts.
If your main interest is the store, first check which e-commerce plugin it integrates with, because this is the feature that depends most on your setup.
Automatic forms and campaigns from the editor
With the auto-append feature, the form appears at the end of all posts or only those in a given category, without touching each article. And from the Gutenberg editor you can create a new campaign in Mailchimp with a button; design and sending are done afterwards in Mailchimp. If you code, the plugin includes action and filter hooks to customize almost any aspect.

Does it work without the free plugin?
It's an add-on for the base plugin, so you install it as an extension of the free one, not as a replacement.
Can it work with Mailchimp and another service at the same time?
No: it is designed only for Mailchimp.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not to create forms or style them, since that's done with the visual interface. The hooks are for those who want to go further.
Can I see who unsubscribes?
Yes: subscriber activity shows subscribes and unsubscribes for your audiences over the period you choose.
