About MEC Fluent View Layouts
An event expires, and its page has few visits to convince people
A confusing or dated calendar costs you attendees. A product page lives for months, but an event page has an expiry date: people see it once or twice before deciding whether to go. If the listing looks like it belongs to another era or the event page isn't clear at first glance, there is no second chance.
MEC Fluent View Layouts is an add-on for Modern Events Calendar that changes the look of those views with new skins. It is not a separate calendar: it needs MEC Lite or Pro to work.
How your calendar changes with MEC Fluent View Layouts: choosing the skin
Step 1: you start from a working MEC. Your events are created and your shortcodes are placed on your pages. Nothing gets rebuilt here: the add-on changes the skin, not the data.
Step 2: you choose the skin. There are more than 20 for all shortcodes and for the single event, and the fluent view is picked from the skins with one click, with no special configuration. Besides the new skins, you can use fluent styles.
What visitors see: filters, event page and bookings
Step 3: the visitor filters. Filtering is the same as always, with a new interface and an improved experience. If you were looking for filtering criteria different from what MEC already offers, that is not what this add-on provides.
Step 4: they open the event page. The single event widgets look more polished, and this is the page where the person decides whether to sign up.
Step 5: booking. The booking system is the same as before, with a more elegant interface and a more refined experience. It adds no new booking features or payment methods; check in the demo how the form looks with your fields.
MEC Fluent View Layouts and the usual questions
Does it work without Modern Events Calendar?
No. It is an add-on and needs MEC Lite or Pro installed.
Does it change only the calendar or also the event page?
Both: there are skins for the shortcodes and for the single event.
Does it look good on mobile and tablet?
It is responsive and compatible with mobile phones, tablets and other devices. It also makes accessing events easier. Still, check in the demo how long titles or many events on the same day behave.
Does it add new features?
No: it renews the design of what MEC already does (views, filters, widgets and bookings). If you need a feature MEC doesn't have, this won't add it.
