About Meraki – Job Board WordPress Theme

A job board with three listings looks abandoned

The hard part of a job board is not installing it, but making sure the first company that visits finds candidates and the first candidate finds recent listings. If one side is missing, the other leaves and does not come back. That is why it pays to start with a narrow niche (a sector, a city, a type of profile) and have content in place before you open the doors.

Meraki is a theme built for this kind of site: it comes with the listings system included, so you do not have to hunt for a separate job plugin to get started.

Listings, resumes and recruiters in Meraki

The theme includes ModelTheme Listings Manager, an in-house listings plugin, together with ModelTheme Framework. On that base it covers what a job board needs day to day:

  • Submit from the frontend or the backend: listings can be sent from a public page of the site or added from the admin panel.
  • Google Maps: integration included.
  • Resume page: an individual page for each resume.
  • Recruiter page: included in the theme.

Paid listings rely on WooCommerce

Meraki supports free, paid and sponsored listings, and it does so by integrating WooCommerce with its own dashboard. That means your job board will have a shop running underneath. It helps to separate what comes ready from what is up to you:

  • Already solved: free, paid and sponsored listings, frontend submission, map, resume and recruiter pages, and Contact Form 7 compatibility.
  • Up to you: getting the first listings and the first candidates, writing terms of use and a privacy policy (resumes contain personal data, so consult a professional), setting up the payment methods for your country in WooCommerce, and checking in the demo how listings are handled before they go live.

Customizing Meraki without touching code

The options panel, based on Redux Framework, groups the general settings, styling, header, footer, contact, blog, shop and social media. There are several header variants, unlimited sidebars, custom widgets, multiple colors and skins, CSS animations, more than 600 Google Fonts and font icons instead of images. With the one-click demo data importer you start from a site that is already built and adapt it to your niche.

It is compatible with WPBakery Page Builder and Visual Composer for laying out pages, and with Contact Form 7 for forms. It is designed to load fast, although the result also depends on your hosting and how many listings you accumulate.

Common questions before choosing Meraki

Do I need a separate job plugin?

Not to get started: the theme comes with ModelTheme Listings Manager and ModelTheme Framework.

Can I charge for posting listings?

Yes, it supports paid and sponsored listings through WooCommerce, but you will have to set up the shop and the payment methods.

Can I use it with another page builder?

It is compatible with WPBakery Page Builder and Visual Composer. There is no guarantee with other builders, so test it in the demo first.
