For the club, festival or DJ with a live calendar, not for anyone looking to sell tickets
People deciding where to go out tonight do it from their phone, and if your site shows a party from three weeks ago, they have already picked somewhere else. For a venue or a festival, what expires is exactly what matters most: events, lineups, mixes. Miami is a theme with a festive design made for clubs, concerts, festivals, lounge bars, party websites and for DJs or musicians who want to showcase their career.
It fits if you or someone on your team will keep the site up to date. It is not a ticketing or table booking system: what it organizes is events, artists, photos, videos and mixes. If you need to charge for tickets, you will have to solve that with another tool. Also, pages are built with WPBakery Page Builder, so you should be comfortable with a drag-and-drop editor.
Slideshows and video backgrounds: atmosphere before text
Miami includes many slideshow elements and supports video backgrounds, which helps the homepage convey what the night feels like before anyone reads a paragraph. It is responsive and has been tested on different desktops and smartphones. Even so, a video background on a phone with poor signal is another story: check in the demo how it behaves on your phone.
The options panel controls every part of the theme and the customizer lets you change the colors. Page titles can be adjusted in background, size and font, and the creative menu aims to keep the design from overpowering usability.
Events, artists and mixes without starting from scratch
Content is built with the 24 built-in WPBakery shortcodes, and the one-click import loads the sample content so the site ends up set up like the demo. It saves you the blank page, but you will have to replace all that content with your own.
- Galleries: more than one image or video per piece, with a title and description for each image.
- Blog with seven post formats (standard, image, video, quote, link, gallery and audio), useful for recaps, videos and mixes.
- Testimonials and a latest posts block, which loads content from posts, pages, tags or custom post types and displays it wherever you want.
Map, newsletter and contact for those who have already decided to come
Google Maps with custom styling, multiple addresses and custom pins: useful if you have more than one venue or a festival with several locations. The contact page shows location, hours and details, with an optional map, and supports several forms. The newsletter system is for building lists, sending emails and tracking them, and there are social icons, share buttons and calls to action.
It also includes a design for WooCommerce, in case you sell merchandise or records. Keep in mind that WooCommerce is a separate plugin you will need to have installed.
Questions before choosing Miami
Is it for DJs or only for clubs?
Both: it is made for clubs, concerts and festivals, and also for showcasing a DJ or musician's career with photos, videos and mixes.
Can I sell tickets with it?
Not as a built-in feature. What it covers is events and their information. To charge for tickets you will need another tool.
Do I need to know design?
No, but you do need to handle a visual editor. Pages are built with WPBakery and its shortcodes, and the one-click import gives you a starting point.
Can I change the colors?
Yes, from the theme customizer and its options panel.
