Making budget decisions with data nobody has checked
Many stores start with a misconfigured Google Analytics and find out months later, after they have already made decisions on ad spend, pricing and catalog with figures that were not reliable. MonsterInsights eCommerce Tracking Addon takes care of that setup: it records purchases, checkout steps and product views with no code, no Google Tag Manager and no developer.
It is an add-on, not a standalone plugin: it needs MonsterInsights installed and connected to your Google Analytics account. It integrates with WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, LifterLMS, GiveWP and Restrict Content Pro.
From the first click to the funnel with MonsterInsights eCommerce Tracking Addon
Picture a WooCommerce store that spends on ads and does not know why so many carts are left half-finished. This would be the walkthrough:
- You connect and activate. With MonsterInsights installed and your Google Analytics account linked, you activate the addon and it configures Google Analytics 4 and the eCommerce events for you.
- You read the eCommerce report. Revenue, conversion rate, average order value, top-selling products, top conversion sources, add-to-cart and remove-from-cart actions and new customers, all in your WordPress dashboard, with no spreadsheets and no logging into GA4.
- You open the funnel. You see how shoppers move from viewing a product to adding it to the cart and buying, with conversion and abandonment rates at each stage. That tells you where you lose the most people and where to start fixing.
- You review abandonment and the journey. The cart abandonment report shows which products are left behind and when. The user journey shows the pages visited and the time spent before buying.
It helps to be clear about the limits. The addon depends on MonsterInsights and Google Analytics: if your cart is not one of the six systems listed, confirm compatibility before installing. Also, the reports point to where the leak is, but fixing it (pricing, shipping, checkout steps) is still your job.
Four questions before turning on tracking
Do I need Google Tag Manager or a developer?
No. After you connect your account and activate the addon, the eCommerce events are set up on their own.
Does it work for memberships, courses or donations?
It integrates with MemberPress, LifterLMS, GiveWP, Restrict Content Pro, Easy Digital Downloads and WooCommerce. If you use another system, confirm compatibility before installing.
Can I compare periods and share the data?
Yes. Every report lets you change the date range to compare whichever period you want and export to PDF to show your team or your clients.
Is it the same as installing Google Analytics?
No. The addon adds sales tracking on top of MonsterInsights' connection to your Google Analytics account, so you need both.
Coupons, refunds and time slots: which campaigns deserve a repeat
The coupons report shows which ones are being used and how much they drive purchases, so you measure the real effect of each promotion without keeping manual counts. The refunds report points to the products returned most often. With orders by location, spend by day, spend by hour and refunds by location you find out which countries and what hours your best customers buy at, and you can adjust campaign timing and spend by region.
You can also show your best sellers anywhere on your site with customizable blocks and widgets fed by real sales. And Charlie Chat answers questions about your store inside WordPress, with a recommended action in every answer, for people who are not comfortable with GA4.
