About Morris – WordPress Theme for Digital Agency
Morris: an agency's website is its first case study
A digital marketing or SEO agency usually has the most neglected website in its whole portfolio: client projects come first and its own site waits until there is time. Yet it is the first thing people check when comparing agencies, because they have no other way to judge the work before hiring. A slow, generic site that breaks on mobile already says a lot about what that agency would do with yours.
Morris is a theme by TonaTheme designed for that case: companies offering SEO and other internet marketing services, although it can also be used as a multipurpose theme. It is built with Bootstrap and comes with layouts for blog, services and landing pages, so you start from an agency structure rather than a blank page.
Services, landing pages and pricing tables already laid out
These are the pieces that matter most on an agency website, and Morris ships with them ready:
- Two different landing pages, useful for presenting a specific service or campaign.
- Blog, gallery and service page layouts, to publish content and show work with different compositions.
- Pricing tables, to lay out your service packages in a comparable way.
- Slider Revolution included, to create slides with different animation effects, plus a fullscreen background slider.
It helps to be clear about where it stops: Morris is a presentation theme. It does not replace analytics or campaign tracking tools, and being SEO ready means the structure helps, not that it ranks the site by itself. Forms are built with Contact Form 7 and multilingual with WPML, two separate plugins you must install yourself.
Common questions about Morris before installing it
Does it work if my business is not an agency?
It can be used as a multipurpose theme, but its layouts and focus are born for SEO and marketing. If your sector is different, check in the demo whether the service pages and pricing tables fit what you sell.
Can I run the site in several languages?
Yes: it is compatible with WPML and can be localized with .pot translation files. WPML is a separate plugin that must be added.
Does it look good on mobile?
The design is responsive, optimized for retina screens and tested on real devices. Even so, check your own images and sliders on mobile before publishing.
Does it include its own contact forms?
Not as such: it is compatible with Contact Form 7, with which you can customize your forms once that plugin is installed.
More than 600 font families so it does not look like someone else's template
Two agencies using the same theme stand apart through details like typography. From the options panel you choose among more than 600 Google Fonts families, and you can also load your own fonts to respect your brand identity.
The rest of the control is what you expect from a complete theme: unlimited sidebars, footer widgets, theme and page options of its own, custom page themes, custom CSS and several post formats. The code is clean and commented, something whoever works on it later will appreciate.
First the theme is activated, then the demo content is loaded
Morris is installed from WordPress or via FTP. Once activated, you load the demo content, which also includes the sliders, and replace text and images on pages that are already designed. There is also a one-click installer.
If the site already has content, try the import first on a test copy, because the demo brings its own pages. For fine adjustments there is documentation with video guides.
