Here is the trap in this sector: rates change quickly, and the Mortgates demo puts a block of figures on the front page with rate, amount, term and processing time. It adds concreteness, but every number you publish is a commitment someone will remind you of. If you can't keep them up to date, remove that block or replace it with messages that don't expire.

It's a corporate theme for financial services, with Home, About Us, Services, Blog and Contact. The demo's front page brings together:
- A header with contact details: phone, email, address and social networks in view, plus login and sign-up links.
- Front page messages aimed at people who want to buy a home.
- Three service lines: buying a home, refinancing and credit.
- A video section to introduce the company, a block of track-record figures and testimonials.
- A three-step process (choose the amount, get approved, receive the funds), plus a blog and a newsletter signup.
The most valuable piece is the step-by-step process: it turns "I don't know where to start" into a clear path. Write it with the way you actually work, not a generic one.
The payment calculator and the online application have to be solved separately
Mortgates is a presentation layer, not a financial tool. Here is how the work splits up:
- By hand: all the copy, the figures, the video and the articles (in the demo, the three blog posts repeat a generic consulting text that has nothing to do with mortgages).
- With another plugin: a payment simulator, an application form with attached documents and, if you want it to work, the newsletter signup.
- With a professional: the mobile app the demo advertises (the theme doesn't create it) and the legal review of what you publish.
Demo content to replace before going live
The demo's testimonials repeat almost the same sentence under different names and job titles. Publish only opinions from real clients: inventing reviews misleads visitors and can get you penalized. The same goes for the track-record and loans-issued figures: use them only if they are yours and you can prove them.
Also, advertising interest rates, amounts and terms is often regulated financial advertising in many countries. Ask whoever handles your regulatory compliance which notices you must include, because the theme doesn't add them for you.
Questions before choosing Mortgates
Does it work for a financial advisory that isn't about mortgages? The structure revolves around buying a home, refinancing and credit. For other services you would have to rewrite almost all the copy.
Does it include a mortgage calculator? It isn't a financial tool. You will need a dedicated plugin.
Can I add a company video? Yes, the demo's front page has a video section prepared for that.
Does it look good on mobile? Open the demo on your phone and check the figures block and the header with the contact details in particular.
Does it come with the downloadable app? No. The demo only shows a block promoting it; you would have to develop the app yourself.
