About myCRED WooCommerce Plus - WooCommerce

A points program looks like a gift, but for your store it is a debt: every point you hand out is a future discount that someone will redeem. If you give them away without a plan, you teach customers to wait for the redemption instead of coming back to buy.

Three ways to earn points that reward different behaviors

The add-on offers three reward rules, which you can switch on separately depending on what you want to encourage:

  • Points for every order: the customer earns something on each purchase, small or large.
  • Points for number of orders: the returning customer is rewarded when they reach a certain number of purchases.
  • Points for order range: you define a price range and the order gives the points that match its value. It helps push the average order value up.

So that the customer understands the deal, the points they will earn can be displayed on the product page, in the product total in the cart, at checkout and in the product meta in the cart. Seeing the reward right before paying usually weighs more than a page of terms.

Coupons, partial payments and products reserved for a rank

This is what sets myCred WooCommerce Plus apart from a simple points counter:

  • Automatic coupons: when a user reaches a higher rank or badge, they receive a discount coupon without you having to send it by hand.
  • Coupon generator: customers can convert their points into a fixed-amount coupon whenever they want.
  • Partial payments: part of the order is paid with the points balance or with WooCommerce coupons.
  • Restricted products: you can reserve certain products according to the user's rank or badges, or in exchange for points.

Several point types as a payment method

If you manage more than one point type, each one can be offered as a separate payment method and the customer chooses which to use at checkout. Users can also pay for WooCommerce subscriptions with their points, which is designed for recurring charges with WooCommerce Subscriptions.

What the customer sees in My Account

The points history appears on the WooCommerce My Account page, even with several point types. The Progress Hub also gathers badges, ranks, balances and levels in a single dashboard. This matters because a loyalty program the customer cannot check is quickly forgotten.

Decide if it fits: it depends on myCred and on how you use its ranks

This plugin is a myCred add-on, not a standalone points system. Its settings and hooks appear inside those of myCred, so you need myCred running on your WordPress. Coupons for achievements only make sense if you design ranks and badges in myCred, and paying for subscriptions requires WooCommerce Subscriptions. If you only want a one-off discount, it is more tool than you need.

Is it suitable for a small store?

Yes, if you have customers who buy again. If almost all your sales are one-offs, the rules based on number of orders will deliver little.

Can I pay a whole order with points?

The add-on allows partial payments with points or coupons, and also offering point types as a payment method. Check in the demo how the flow looks with your setup.

Are coupons created automatically?

Yes, when a higher rank or badge is reached. In addition, customers can generate a fixed-amount coupon themselves with their points.

Can it be used on several sites?

It works on a single site or on a multisite installation.
