About Nastik – Creative Portfolio WordPress Theme
When the client skims your portfolio instead of reading it
The person judging you for a job rarely reads: they skim. They move from one piece to the next looking for a sign that you can do exactly what they need, and if the site makes them wait, search or decipher an odd navigation, they close the tab. A creative portfolio fails more because of how it orders and presents the work than because of the quality of the work itself.
Nastik is a portfolio theme for designers, video producers, architects and photographers. It changes pages with Ajax transitions and animations, so the visit moves from one project to another without abrupt jumps, and it adapts to desktop, tablet and mobile, retina screens included.
Nastik depending on the kind of work you show
Photography and architecture
Here large images and order rule. The theme offers five portfolio page styles and eight project detail styles, so you can use a grid that lets the client see many pieces at once and a slower detail page to tell the story of a building or a shoot. To build galleries and grids inside your pages you have the Nastik Portfolio Grid and Nastik Image Gallery elements.
Video and animation
The home page can use a background video from YouTube, Vimeo or an HTML5 file, and there is a video intro style among the nine home variants. You can also choose a slider, slideshow, carousel, parallax image or Revolution Slider, depending on whether you want to open with a clip or with a still piece.
Freelance design or small studio
You can build the site as a single page, with sections that change the background and text depending on the section, or as a multi-page website. The one-page version works well with few projects; the multi-page version gives you room for services (there is a service block and service detail page), questions and a blog.
Tools to adjust the design without coding
Nastik is built on WPBakery Page Builder, with visual editing from the frontend or the dashboard. The rest of the toolbox:
- Redux options panel to adjust the theme without touching code, including changing the base color and the global accent color.
- Unlimited Google Fonts and Font Awesome icons.
- Shortcode generator and custom widgets.
- Instagram feed, MailChimp subscription and social share buttons.
- Styling for Contact Form 7 and a child theme for WooCommerce.
- Options to change the URL of portfolio detail pages and categories.
- Demo content in XML, so you can start from a finished site and replace it with your projects.
Questions before choosing Nastik
Does it work for a single page?
Yes, there is a one-page version and a multi-page version.
Can I change the colors?
Yes, from the options panel: global color and base colors.
Does it include a contact form?
It comes with styling for Contact Form 7, but you create the form with that plugin.
Can I sell with it?
It includes a child theme for WooCommerce, so you can add a simple shop, although the theme is meant to show work, not to sell.
It depends on WPBakery and on Nastik's own plugin
The portfolio, services or accordion elements are WPBakery blocks, so if you prefer another page builder you will not have them. Nastik also uses its own plugin, which must be active. And the contact form and the shop need their own plugins.
