About Newsletter Elementor Addon
The emails from your Elementor forms never reach your list
You have a contact or quote form that receives enquiries every week, and those addresses stay in your inbox without ever moving to your newsletter list. Copying them by hand is slow and easy to forget. Adding a second subscription form from another system breaks the design you already took care over.
Newsletter Elementor Addon connects the Elementor Pro form widget to the Newsletter plugin: the form you already have starts creating subscribers, with the fields you choose.
One detail is worth making clear from the start: someone who sends you an enquiry is interested in your business, but that does not mean they asked to receive your newsletter. That is why the most important thing about this addon is not subscribing, but deciding when someone gets subscribed.
Newsletter Elementor Addon depending on the form you have
Contact form with an option to subscribe
Add a checkbox field and map it to the Newsletter consent field. Only if the visitor ticks it does their data go to the list. Mapping the email and, if you like, the first name is enough. Be careful: if you do not map consent, Newsletter assumes none is needed and subscribes everyone who submits the form. Check which requirements apply to your case.
Pure subscription page
If the form is only for subscribing, design the fields with the Elementor builder, map the email (the only required field) and any other data you want to keep, such as first and last name.
Different lists per page or campaign
The fixed lists option adds every new subscriber to the lists you specify.
Subscribers who choose their interests
With a multiple checkbox field you can offer several options, each with its label and value separated by a pipe character (Elementor requires this). That field is mapped to the special set of lists field, and each value is read as a list ID. Only public lists count.
Multilingual site with WPML
For the subscriber profile to store the language they signed up in, enable the WPML option for language filtering on AJAX operations. Without it, the starting language cannot be detected.
How fields are mapped in Newsletter Elementor Addon
- Enable the form action called Newsletter: a tab appears with all the subscriber fields.
- Map only the ones you need. The email is the only essential one.
- Prepare the form in Elementor first: the addon does not design it, it only connects it.
If you already know the Elementor Pro form widget, the new part is this tab and little else.
Questions before installing Newsletter Elementor Addon
Does it work without the Newsletter plugin? No. It is an add-on that connects two tools and needs both.
Does it work with the free version of Elementor? No: it works with the Elementor Pro form widget.
Do I have to map every field? No, only the email. The rest are optional.
Can I let visitors choose several lists? Yes, with a multiple checkbox field mapped to the set of lists, as long as the lists are public.
What happens if I do not map consent? Newsletter processes the data as if no consent were needed and creates the subscription.
Forms you already built do not show new fields
If after setting up a form you add subscriber fields or lists in Newsletter, that form may not show them, because Elementor Pro does not refresh fields that are already loaded. New forms do include them. The same applies to the multiple lists field: you may need to create a new form to see it.
