About Ninja Forms Constant Contact Extension
For people who already use Constant Contact and have forms that never reach the list
A quote request form, an event registration, a volunteer sign-up: every week real contacts come in through your WordPress and sit in an inbox instead of your mailing list. Moving them by hand into Constant Contact is a task that gets postponed until the contact has gone cold.
This extension is for you if you already have a Constant Contact account and build your forms with Ninja Forms. It needs the Ninja Forms plugin and that account; without them it does nothing. It is not for you if you use another email marketing service or want a subscription form that is independent of Ninja Forms.
Before deciding, keep these limits in mind:
- Only three fields are mapped: first name, last name and email. Phone, company or other data do not travel to the contact record.
- Sending people to different lists depending on their answer also requires the Ninja Forms Conditional Logic extension.
- The visual look of the form is controlled with Ninja Forms Layout & Styles.
One-click authorization instead of keys to copy
You go to the Ninja Forms settings, click the authorization link, log in to Constant Contact and click Allow. The access token is saved automatically: there are no API keys to paste and no configuration files to edit.
After that, in each form you add the Constant Contact action from Emails & Actions, pick the list from a dropdown inside the builder itself and map the fields. You do not have to jump between two tools to set it up.
Ninja Forms Constant Contact Extension and interest groups: an organized list from the first submission
A list that mixes everyone together forces you to clean it up later. With Constant Contact interest groups, each form submission can be assigned to a specific group within the list. If visitors say which topic interests them, they get tagged without you touching anything.
If you need to go a step further and send each person to a different list depending on their answer (for example, product updates versus general news), combine the extension with Conditional Logic. A dropdown or choice field in the form works as a subscriber router, with no coding.
The consent checkbox that decides who gets in
The extension includes its own Constant Contact opt-in field. If the visitor leaves it unchecked, the subscription action is skipped entirely, with no conditional logic rules. That way only people who said yes end up on your list.
It helps you collect consent, but regulatory compliance depends on how you word the form and how you handle the data.
Any form can subscribe, including the ones you already have published
You do not need to build a signup form from scratch. Add the Constant Contact action to a contact, quote, registration or sign-up form, and whoever submits it can join your list in the same submission.
Since everything runs through Ninja Forms, you keep its options: several email notifications, your own success message and a redirect to a thank-you page after submitting.
Questions about Ninja Forms Constant Contact Extension
Do I have to copy API keys?
No. You authorize the connection from the WordPress dashboard by logging in to Constant Contact, and the token is saved automatically.
What data reaches the contact record?
First name, last name and email address. Those are the three fields Constant Contact accepts in the mapping.
Can I send each subscriber to a different list?
Yes, but you also need the Ninja Forms Conditional Logic extension. With interest groups, however, you can segment within a single list without it.
What happens if the visitor does not check the opt-in box?
If you have added that field to the form, the Constant Contact subscription is not made.
Does it work with forms I already have?
Yes. Open the form in the builder, add the Constant Contact action, choose the list and map the fields.
