About Osmosis Responsive WordPress Theme
A transparent menu is at the mercy of every photo
The design gets approved with a dark image in the hero and the white menu floating on top. It looks elegant. Some time later, someone on the team swaps that image for a bright photo of the new office, and the menu vanishes against a white wall. Nobody touched the design, and still the site can no longer be navigated until a visitor mentions it.
A transparent header turns every hero image into a legibility decision, and whoever uploads photos rarely knows they are making it. That dependency grows with the number of pages.
Osmosis, by Greatives, is a multipurpose WordPress theme that gives the header a lot of configuration room. That solves the problem if you use it with method, and multiplies it if each page is decided on the fly.
Headers per page and even per slide
- Three styles plus a sticky one to use per page, and even per slide.
- Rearrangeable header elements, not limited to predefined layouts.
- Sticky header in three modes: Advanced, Simple and Shrink.
- Transparent menus and two responsive menu styles.
- Variants in the demo: alternative, anchor and hidden menus, plus pages with the header below the main section.
The per-slide option is the most useful here: a carousel alternating light and dark photos can carry a different style on each one.
Sections, portfolio, blog and shop
- Section backgrounds: color, image or video, with parallax, fixed or animated effects.
- Builder and sliders: WPBakery Page Builder and Revolution Slider.
- Pricing tables with Go Pricing, plus elements for counters, charts, galleries, maps, team and testimonials.
- Portfolio in grid, multi-grid, masonry and carousel, with detailed case studies.
- Blog in grid, masonry and carousel layouts, with filters.
- WooCommerce shop from two to four columns, with sidebar and several product templates.
- Maintenance and coming soon modes.
The demo gathers ten home pages, including video, one page and Revolution Slider, alongside cases such as corporate, interior design and photography.
The demo images do not reach your site
When you import the sample data, images are replaced with placeholders. What you see in the demo is not what will appear on your site, and that is where the opening warning comes in: contrast between menu and background is checked with your own photos.
WPBakery stores the design as shortcodes inside the content, so changing builders means rebuilding the pages laid out with it.
And a parallax effect on every section adds motion everywhere: choose where it helps, and review the result on a real phone.
Compatibility and getting it running
It works with bbPress, Contact Form 7, The Events Calendar, Gravity Forms, WooCommerce and WPBakery Page Builder. It is translation ready, with WPML and Polylang, and supports a child theme and MailChimp.
For the menu to survive future photos, this order helps:
- Install the theme and import only the demo you will use.
- Choose one default header style for the whole site.
- Keep the transparent menu for pages whose image you control.
- Upload your photos and check the menu on desktop and in the mobile style you choose.
- Write a short rule for whoever changes images later on.
Impreza, Salient or Avada versus Osmosis
If you want the header to change by device, Impreza has a header builder with four layouts per device and sticky and transparent states, plus its Live Builder.
For a creative studio, Salient offers seven portfolio styles and its own version of WPBakery.
If you prefer to control header, footer, templates and shop from a single system, Avada brings those builders together.
