About Peter Mason

Peter Mason: a tailor's website exists to fill the fitting calendar

A made-to-measure tailor often has a pretty website that brings in no appointments, or an online shop that sells suits nobody has tried on. Peter Mason starts from the opposite idea: a bespoke suit is almost never bought with one click, it is bought after a measuring session. That is why the theme puts the book-an-appointment button in the header and repeats it on the homepage.

It is designed for tailors and clothing shops.

Pages to show the craft, not just the product

The theme comes with three different homepages: fullwidth, shop and boxed. Pick the one that fits your brand and discard the others.

  • Services: blocks for custom tailoring, accessories such as bow ties, fitting alterations and wedding suits for the groom and his party.
  • Team: a page with the tailors and individual profiles, useful when the customer wants to know who will take their measurements.
  • Gallery and portfolio: grid, masonry and cobbles for the gallery, and a two to four column portfolio.
  • Content: news in classic or chess layouts, two About page styles, testimonials, a contact page and a privacy policy page.
  • Tools: typography and shortcode pages.

A shop for ready-to-wear suits next to the workshop

Besides the made-to-measure service, the demo includes a ready-to-wear area with a cart and product pages with variants. Each suit shows a price range and the options are chosen on its own page. It works if you also want to sell off-the-peg suits.

Choosing buttons and lapels is not something the theme solves

On the demo site the tailor promises that the customer can choose buttons, pockets and lapels. That is a service provided in the workshop, not a theme feature. It helps to separate what comes ready from what is up to you:

  • Already solved: homepage design, pages for services, team, gallery, blog, testimonials and contact, an appointment button and a shop structure with cart.
  • You or a professional cover it: a visual suit configurator (fabric, lining, buttons), if you want one, would need another tool or custom development.
  • Check in the demo: whether the appointment page is a contact form or manages schedules and availability. If you need a booking calendar with reminders, consider a dedicated plugin.
  • By hand: the sample texts on the tailor profiles and the company history are placeholders. Replace them with your own before publishing.
  • By hand: the size guide, production times and the terms for alterations and returns, which weigh heavily in this business.
