About Podover – Podcast Wordpress Theme
Your podcast plays on the platforms, but the audience isn't yours
Uploading episodes to Spotify or Apple is easy. The hard part is getting listeners to your website, seeing who is speaking, reading something and coming back. Many podcast sites end up being an embedded player inside a blog post. Podover starts from a different idea: your website is the only place where the audience is yours, so the theme puts the weight on the episode page and not just on the homepage.
It is designed for a personal podcast, a network with several hosts and shows, a vlog or an online radio station with live audio.
From the first episode to a page that retains listeners
This is the typical path with Podover:
Step 1: you import the demo closest to your project
There are homepage demos for podcast, vlog, podcast network and online radio, plus ready-made inner pages, and they import with one click. You start by editing instead of building from scratch. Everything is built with Elementor, which comes with the theme.
Step 2: you choose how episodes are listed
There are four listing styles. Some show single episodes; others group seasons or shows with several episodes, which is most useful if you run a network with several series.
Step 3: you complete the episode page
This is where the most value is. You can add the episode transcript, timestamps with their own player, audience comments and a form to leave feedback. The transcript also gives Google text to read, something audio alone doesn't offer. The player includes skip forward and back buttons, playback speed and volume control.
One limit to keep in mind: Podover presents the episodes, but it is not an audio hosting service. Check in the demo how audio is loaded and how it fits with the service where you already publish your feed.
Common questions before choosing Podover
Does it work for an online radio station?
Yes, one of the demos is aimed at online radio. If you want live broadcasting, check in the demo how streaming connects with your broadcasting service.
Can the website be translated?
The theme is compatible with WPML, so you can build a site in several languages.
Does it connect to a newsletter?
It is compatible with MailChimp. With other email services, check which form options you have.
Is it suitable for selling merchandise?
It is not designed as a store theme. Its funding feature is the donation page.
Hosts, events and donations: from listener to community
A podcast grows when people get to know the people behind the microphone and have reasons to come back. Podover covers three pieces:
- Hosts page: presents your team with a polished design, with an individual profile for each presenter. It is key in networks with several shows.
- Events: a listing and a page for each event, to announce live shows, tours or meetups.
- Donations: a page with suggested amounts so that supporting your project is a quick gesture.
Menu, header and plugins: what Podover leaves in your hands
The theme includes a header and footer builder, a mega menu with several columns, shortcodes and elements, and a sidebar generator. In the Customizer you adjust styles, layout, site width (full or boxed), main colors and blog options.
- It comes with Elementor, Contact Form 7, Slider Revolution and the demo importer.
- It is compatible with Yoast SEO, Rank Math, W3 Super Cache and W3 Total Cache.
- It includes several blog styles, SEO-ready. Even so, rankings depend on your content.
It is a multipurpose theme with a podcast focus: check that the demos cover what you need before customizing.
