About PublishPress Future Pro
For sites with offers, notices and events that expire and nobody remembers to take down
Publishing is easy. What gets forgotten is taking things down: the promotion that ended three weeks ago, the notice for an event that already happened, the seasonal product still on sale. Anyone running a blog with deadline-driven content usually relies on someone's memory or a calendar reminder. PublishPress Future Pro is for taking that chore out of the team's heads and scheduling it on the content itself.
It suits you if you work with already published content that must change on its own: be unpublished, move to draft, go to the trash, change category or tags. It also fits if you need to chain several changes or email the team when they happen.
It doesn't suit you if you want an editorial calendar to plan what gets written and by whom: this plugin changes existing content, it doesn't organize production. And if a single action per post is enough, you'll have more tool than you use: multi-step workflows are what sets this Pro version apart.
Choosing the action and date without leaving the editor
While editing a post, page or product, you choose what should happen and when. The available actions cover the usual cases:
- Move to draft or to the trash, or delete the post.
- Add, remove or replace taxonomy terms (categories, tags).
- Move the content to a custom WordPress status.
- Schedule the action based on the post's publishing date.
A practical detail: deleting and sending to the trash are not the same. If in doubt, the trash lets you recover the content.
Multi-step workflows and if/else paths in PublishPress Future Pro
This is the difference from a simple expiry date. You can build a sequence of changes that moves forward as the content goes through its life cycle, for example changing the category of an offer when it ends and then moving it to draft.
- The workflow can start on a specific date, on a relative date, or from another date stored on your site.
- It supports conditional steps: one action if the condition is met and another if it isn't.
- It can send an email during the workflow or when it finishes, so the team knows what changed.
There is a learning curve: the more steps and conditions you chain, the more you should test the workflow on sample content before applying it to pages that matter.
Bulk dates, change log and visible date
With Quick Edit and Bulk Edit you change the action dates of several posts without opening them one by one, useful when a whole campaign gets longer or shorter. It works with posts, pages, WooCommerce products, LearnDash content and other custom post types.
The activity log records which content was modified and which actions ran. When someone asks why a page disappeared, you check instead of guessing. A shortcode also lets you show the date the action will run inside the content itself, for example on an offer with an end date.
