A Qode theme without this plugin is only half a theme
You install a Qode Interactive theme, you see the demo, and once you activate it you find that the portfolio, the post listings and the options panel are missing. It is not a bug: those pieces live in a separate plugin, and without it the theme never looks like the one you saw. That is where QODE ESSENTIAL ADDONS PREMIUM comes in.
The people who look for it usually already have (or are about to buy) a Qode theme and want it to work like the demo. It helps to be clear from the start: it is the part that completes the theme, not a product you use on its own to change the design of just any website.
Portfolio, blog and product listings with shortcodes
The plugin adds several pieces the theme takes for granted:
- Portfolio as its own content type.
- Portfolio List, Blog List and Product List, three shortcodes to display content.
- Widgets and other custom options used by Qode themes.
It works with Elementor and with WPBakery, so it does not force you to change builders. Compatibility with other page builders is not available for now.
Per-page options that override the global ones, only with Qode themes
With a Qode theme, the plugin creates the administration panel and adds settings to every page and every post: background (color, image, repeat, size, and whether it stays fixed or scrolls), content padding (with a different value for screens of 1024 px or below) and the option to put the content behind the header.
It also controls the header on that page (height, background color, menu position, widget areas and logo), the sidebar (including the option to remove it) and the title area (height, color, background image, alignment).
What you save there overrides the theme's global options. The sensible approach is to define the general look once and only touch the pages that need it, because adjusting every page by hand multiplies the work.
The important limit: with a theme that is not from Qode, you still get the listing shortcodes and the widgets, but not the administration panel or the global and per-page options described above.
Frequently asked questions before installing it
Does it work with any WordPress theme?
It can be installed with any theme and will provide the Portfolio List, Blog List and Product List shortcodes and the widgets. But the panel and the page options only appear with Qode themes.
Does it replace Elementor or WPBakery?
No. It relies on them: it is compatible with both, but it is not a builder.
Is it useful to publish a portfolio on someone else's theme?
Yes, it adds the Portfolio content type, though without Qode's own design options.
Theme first, global options next and individual pages last
To avoid surprises, follow this order: activate your Qode theme, activate the plugin, set the global look and only then go into specific pages to fix whatever is needed. If you work with a theme from another vendor, test the listing shortcodes before building content, because they are all you will have available.
