An online radio without a schedule is music with no appointment
Setting up a web radio often ends with a player that plays and a website that does not say what is on, who is talking or what comes next. QT KenthaRadio fills that gap on sites that already use the Kentha theme: it adds a stream player, live song titles, a show schedule and Top 10 charts.
What hardly anyone tells you when launching a station: listeners do not come back for the stream, which they can find anywhere, but for a specific show at a specific time. That is why the valuable part here is the schedule, each show's page and the host linked to it, not just the play button.
The Kentha player with your channels and the song that is playing
You can add as many mp3 stream channels as you want to the Kentha player. The music does not stop while visitors browse the site, and the player is built for mobile. It works with SHOUTcast, IceCast, Radio.co, Airtime, Radionomy and plain MP3.
It also shows the artist and title of the current song, with the same services (SHOUTcast 2 in the case of SHOUTcast). If your streaming service blocks access from other domains (CORS), the plugin includes a proxy system, and there is an Icecast channel option for multi-channel broadcasts.
Schedule, show pages and Top 10 charts to give people reasons to return
- Schedule with automatic date and time detection: slider and carousel of upcoming shows, a large banner for the show on air and a mini version. The 12 or 24 hour format is changed under Appearance > Customize.
- A page for each show: automatically generated timetable, social links, tagline and linked team members.
- Team: each host has a profile with a tagline, their own social links and a connection to their shows.
- Top 10 charts: unlimited tracks with SoundCloud, YouTube or an mp3 preview (previews play in the main player), a buy link (also with WooCommerce) and two templates.
- Widgets and shortcodes: show on air, upcoming shows, chart, play button and song title, to place wherever you want.
It works with both Elementor and WPBakery.
Is it worth tying your radio to Kentha?
This is the real decision. QT KenthaRadio is not a stand-alone plugin: it only works with the Kentha theme, which is not included. If your site uses another theme, it is no use to you. If you already use Kentha or are choosing a theme for a station, this is the add-on made for that. It also does not host your broadcast: you need your own streaming service, or one you hire, to connect the player to.
If you are coming from the OnAir2 theme, you can move to Kentha with this plugin and keep your data, schedule and channels, because the fields and content types are compatible.
Do I have to use WPBakery?
No. The widgets are also available in Elementor. The demo content is simply prepared for WPBakery and is delivered as XML.
Can it show the song that is playing?
Yes, as long as your streaming service is one of the supported ones: SHOUTcast, IceCast, Radio.co, Airtime, Radionomy or MP3.
Can I have several stations or channels?
Yes, the player supports unlimited mp3 stream channels.
Can I sell the songs in the Top 10?
You can add a buy link to each track, even pointing to a WooCommerce product. The plugin is not a store by itself.
