About Reign Dokan Addon
In a marketplace with no community, every new product waits for someone to come back and look
A vendor uploads a product. In an ordinary multivendor shop, that product sits in their storefront until a buyer walks in and finds it. Meanwhile, if you also run a community, your members are elsewhere on the site: on the feed, in their groups, in their conversations.
Reign for Dokan brings those two sides closer. New products, new vendors, big orders and reviews post to the BuddyPress or BuddyBoss feed, and each vendor storefront has a button to follow them. The catalog shows up where members already are, instead of waiting for them in another section.
That defines who it makes sense for: anyone who has, or wants, buyers and vendors who interact. If your project is only a shop with many vendors, this social layer has nobody to talk to.
The nine Dokan screens that take on the Reign design
- Vendor storefront: cover with logo, banner, bio, product grid, store reviews and follow button.
- Store directory: search with filters by category, location and rating, plus badges for featured vendors.
- Product page: vendor card beside the buy box, similar-products strip, reviews tab and contact form.
- Vendor dashboard: analytics, products, orders, withdrawal requests and review responses.
- Vendor signup: two steps, with social login, store URL pick and category selection.
- Order tracking: Pending, Processing, Shipped and Delivered statuses, with vendor updates on the buyer feed.
- Reviews and ratings: per product and per vendor, with replies, photos and helpful votes.
- Commission and payouts: admin commission rules, withdrawals by PayPal, Stripe or bank transfer, and earnings reports.
- Activity integration: marketplace events reach the community feed.
A member becomes a vendor from their own profile
Every member finds a button on their profile to become a vendor. The signup form inherits the community design and, once finished, a new-vendor announcement posts to the feed.
Dokan Pro features are covered by the design too: subscriptions, store coupons, store reviews, store SEO and advanced commission rules.
Dokan remains the marketplace engine
This add-on gives Dokan its visual form and links it to the community, without replacing it. Dokan provides the multivendor machinery.
It does not work on its own either: it is a module that sits on top of the Reign theme, so it is no use on another theme.
If all you want is for Dokan to display correctly, you do not need it: Astra, GeneratePress, Kadence and most WooCommerce-ready themes already render it well.
The three pieces it needs and how to set them going
You need the Reign theme, Dokan and, for the social side, BuddyPress or BuddyBoss. With all of that ready, this is the order to get started:
- Activate the Reign theme and configure Dokan.
- Install and activate Reign for Dokan.
- Create a test member and turn them into a vendor from their profile.
- Publish a product, place an order and see what reaches the feed.
Catalog products that cover another part of the project
Dokan Pro expands the engine this add-on dresses, with each vendor dashboard on the public side of the site. If your community runs on the BuddyBoss platform and you prefer its own visual layer, there is BuddyBoss Theme.
For a marketplace with no feed or members, Rehub is a dedicated multivendor theme.
Questions when choosing a Dokan theme with a community
Does it work with Dokan Pro?
Yes. Subscriptions, store coupons, store reviews, store SEO and advanced commission rules are covered by the design.
Does it work with BuddyBoss as well as BuddyPress?
Yes. Marketplace activity posts to the feed of either one.
Is it worth it for a shop with no community?
Its main advantage is the link with BuddyPress or BuddyBoss. Without that layer, a dedicated multivendor theme fits better.
