About RH – Real Estate WordPress Theme
A property portal isn't something you improvise with a generic theme
Building a real estate website with a generic theme often ends in search forms that don't filter the way buyers think, property pages without a map and a contact form that can't tell which property the message is about. RH (RealHomes) was made for this sector and ships with what a general-purpose theme forces you to patch together with plugins.
What almost nobody tells you: in real estate, your site competes with huge portals, and the only way to win is to offer a search tuned to your area and your type of property. That's why it matters that the search is yours and can be reshaped.
A search you can rebuild field by field
- Custom fields: you can show or hide any field, add new ones, adjust the minimum and maximum price values and change how bedrooms and bathrooms behave.
- Four-level location: Country > State > City > Area, with labels you can edit from the customizer and data managed in the admin.
- Search over an image: on the home template it replaces the slider with a form over a background photo, with configurable colors, texts and margins.
- Elementor widget: the form is also available as a widget.
- Maps: it uses OpenStreetMap by default and only switches to Google Maps if you enter an API key in the settings.
Visitors can also add properties to a comparison list and view them side by side without registering.
From the independent agency to vacation rentals
The theme covers several business models, and it's worth choosing yours before you start:
- Independent agents and agencies: listings, agent pages and agency pages.
- Developers: to present and sell their own projects.
- Portals with user submissions: owners publish listings for free, pay per listing or buy a membership package.
- Vacation rentals: with an included plugin, the search becomes a booking search, with a front-end dashboard to manage bookings, payments and invoices.
Listings display in list, grid or split-map layouts, with templates that filter and sort by your criteria, and there are also gallery templates. Recent additions include saved searches with email alerts, a currency switcher, unit conversion, property analytics, a CRM demo with lead management and a demo with support for MLS providers. The user dashboard lets people edit properties and their profile without entering the admin.
When RH suits you and what to know before choosing it
It is a feature-rich theme, so the initial setup takes time: there are design variations (modern, classic and Ultra) and deciding which one to use shapes everything else. If you just want a page with four properties, it's probably too much.
Does it work for vacation rentals?
Yes, but you need to activate the vacation rentals plugin that comes with the theme; without it, the search is the standard real estate one.
Does it work with Elementor?
It includes a search widget and property templates for the Ultra variation with Elementor. Check in the demo which parts of your design depend on the page builder.
Do I need a Google Maps key?
No. Maps work with OpenStreetMap; Google Maps is only enabled if you enter your key.
Can visitors publish their own listings?
Yes, for free, pay per listing or through a membership.
Do I need to install other plugins?
For bookings, yes, the vacation rentals one. For other features, such as WooCommerce payments, there is a specific add-on, so check which modules you will need.
